You're doing the DIY divorce aren't you? If you are I need some advice on costs. Me and my ex agreed on the DIY one but he refused to sign if I divorced him so I was waiting till the five year seperation next year when I wouldn't need his signature. But he's finally getting it in motion now he's met someone. Thing is I've agreed to go halves with him and I think he's pulling a fast one with the costs. I thought it was court costs when the papers went in and then money when you apply for the decree absolute. He's insisting it's near the £500 mark cos he's paying to get the forms and have them filled in but I downloaded the forms from the court free. Can you throw any light on costs for me please cos I'm sure he's doing his usual pulling a fast one trick.

Okay - you can download all the papers from the court website they also send you copies.. you need to pay £210 for the petition and then £30 for the Abs.. that is it!!! you may need £5 to get the affidavit things witnessed by a Solicitor but you can go to the court and they will witness it for FREE!!

He is taking you for a jolly ride!! sock it to him babes!

Thanks love. That's more like what I thought it would be. I'd already got the forms which I said he could have it's his choice to pay to get them so I'm not paying towards that. As much as I want the divorce I'm sort of happy enough to wait a few more months and divorce him on five years if need be. What's a few more months after al this time? The one thing I know is when it's finally done it'll be party of all partys!
