Question order of service/day

hi folks
i know this has probably been asked a hundred time befor but i need to think about the order of service - only just decided we need one but as most people wont have been to a civil wedding like this befor i thought i should give them some idea about what is happening throughout the day

so other than a running order what else should i include - what have/did you all put in yours

all ideas greatfully recieved

I am not doing one. We are having a civil do too, and we included all the info we thought people would need on our invite.

It said:

The festivities will include:

1:00pm The exchange of wedding vows
1:30pm Drinks and photographs on terrace
3:15pm Fine food and wine
7:30pm Music and dancing

Carriages at midnight

I was thining of doing a running order of the day and sicking 1 copy in the castle, but dont think I'll bother now.

Sorry, I know I'm not much help

We are doing order of day, the only reason is I ordered far to many invites and actually have enough if we print new inside pages to give out on the day. We are literally doing a running order like below:

1:30pm Ceremony
2:00pm Welcome drinks and Photographs
4:00pm Breakfast
6:00pm Speeches & Toasts
7:00pm Disco Starts
7:30pm Band
8:30pm Buffet available
10:00pm Fire Works

I wanted to do it because we are having fireworks which nobody knows about and some of my relatives were getting confused and didn't realise there was an evening doo as well.

I guess it gives people something to read while they are waiting for me.

thanks Looby

I'm still toying with the idea as i think if i was a guest i would prefer to have some idea of what to expect

perhaps i will see if there is card and paper left after the invites are finished

h.

Bex (my SIL) sent out an order of the day with the invites (printed on them) - she also did an order or service for the ceremony but that seemed a bit odd since it was civil - no hymn words etc.......
