Default Wedding dress decisions, decisions

I'm off out to try on all the wedding dresses in Debenhams this Friday.
I've noticed that the bridal stuff in some shops is coming to the end of the season, so it looks like sales are about to hit in the next few weeks. Here's hoping I get something really good then!

Had a semi-"discussion" with H2B. His dad has complained because H2B's gran wants to come to the evening reception. She'll be at the day reception but wants to stay for the evening but not for too long. Thing is, both receptions will be on a boat, and I'm not having it dock to let people off when they feel like it! We may as well keep it docked in that case, or just have it in a hotel!!!
We're docking after the main day reception so anyone can go home if they want to then, and the evening people can get on. I've now had people whinge at me because they want to come but don't want to stay that long! Thing is both me and H2B are clubbers so we want to party til at least midnight! I saw the evening do as a party for the younger people to go mad, the earlier main reception (wedding breakfast) is for all the old/er people. Can you tell I'm ageist? Anyway... this has really wound me up, but I'm now having to do what everyone else wants. Grrr.... I'm only doing it to keep H2B happy. We're now going to dock at around 10pm, and finish then.
To cheer me up, H2B suggested we go clubbing (there's a club very nearby) in all our wedding gear with the younger members of the wedding party who are up for it!

So... I'm now either looking at hiring a dress, and then getting changed to go clubbing. But I'm really a huge HUGE attention seeker, so I'd love to go clubbing in my wedding dress and tiara!!! So Im now looking at buying a really cheap dress. Thing is, if it's got a train, that's not gonna be good in a nightclub! If I'm only spending £200-£300 on it anyway, I don't care if it gets ruined - I won't be wearing it again anyway, and I dont see the point of hanging on to it. But people treading on my train all night would be annoying!
I do have a chapel length veil though. Do I go for a wedding dress with a short train (which I'd really like to do cos I think they look fab) or not?? Are detachable trains that common?

my dress has a short train and the ladies who are altering it for me are putting in a tie so the train can be tied up for the evening so i can dance and move without it getting stood on or damaged too much - maybe this is something you can do

have fun tring on dressed and i think the clubbing idea sounds like fun

Oh you have to go clubbing in the dress!!!!! I agree about the train though. I am having mine cut off completely but that is only because the dress is so blood heavy and looking for ways to lighten it!!!

You definatly have to post pics of you dancing in your wedding dress!!!

That is brilliant!

The other year I went clubbing on New Years Eve and there was bride there in a full on brides dress-all her mates had come in glam dresses and the blokes were in Black Tie-It was excellent!

Go for it!

Thats a brilliant idea to go clubbing afterwards. You should definately wear your dress too.
