Default good weekend

Had a fab weekend as mum has been staying

friday had my first fitting the dress is fab but needs so much work as i am a funny shape i am not overly keen on how it looks from the back but i have a spinal deformity so it is me that look bad not the dress and i'm sure once the alterations have been done it will look better

saturday we tried to get fabric for the bridesmaids dresses but haven't found any yet however we did get the bridesmaids some headbands with little diamante's on and some fab little handbags in black satin with woses and sparcles on

sunday we went for lunch at the venue - its the first time my mum has been inside and she approved which is good news

so a succesful day

only 13weeks to go and i'm very excited

hope everyone else had a good weekend too

I'm tired just reading all that!

I'm sure once your dress has been altered you'll be happier with it. I was really upset after my first fitting, the dresws was miles too big (and it was supposed to have been made to measure) and it looked horrid! However, afetr 4 more fittings it now looks fine

The headbands you bought sound really nice. What kind of fabric are you looking for?

I agree with B after my first try on of MY dress i was so upset but after i had seen the dressmaker and she worked miracles with it , it looked amazing and i was so happy .

Even the bridal shop had a go as i had lost weight and they were not sure that it could be fitted for me..

It will all be fine and here before you know it!

thanks guys

i guess it was a shock as i don't usually see my back and was upset at how bad i thought it looked - i was beginning to think i had made a huge mistake witht the dress but i'm sure it will be fine and i have a long veil in the day and a wrap for the evening so i can keep the unsightly bits of me covered up which will mean i will relax more.

Ive set my mum and sister on fabric hunting duties as we exausted all the places i could think of and they can find something where they live (hopefully)

Sounds like you had a busy weekend.

As the others have said, don't worry about the dress - there seems to be an unwritten law that your dress will look like a dogs dinner on you before they do the alterations.

However, this just adds to the amazement when you try it on post alteration and find that you look like a princess which i'm sure you will.

Sounds like you had a busy weekend.

I'm sure that once the dress has been altered it will fine and you will look so gorgeous. A couple of my friends that have recently got married have said the same thing. They thought they had made a mistake as they both thought the dress looked awful but after it was altered they both looked amazing on the day and you will too. Like Dawnie, said maybe there is a law saying that it will look awful but on the day you will be gorgeous!!

Good luck with the fabric hunting and hope you find what you are looking for. Have you tried online at all?
