Since my wedding I have had vague ideas about selling my dress but had yet to do anything about it. I haven't even had it cleaned yet

But on Sunday I was walking past the Relate Dress Exchange place, that I have never even been in and they had a notice in their window saying "Wanted - Wedding Dresses over a size 16"
So I went in yesterday and the stuff looked a bit grotty in there, but I asked how the place worked anyway, and showed them photos of it. They got quite excited and reckoned that they would have no trouble selling it, and that they would take 50% of the money. Seeing as all the stuff is a bit old looking in there, I was a bit concerned about how much I would get.
They asked how much it had cost and all I knew was that the fabric had been around £100 and it took my Mum months to make it. So they said they would ask £200 +VAT for it. That would be great if I got £100 for it, and even if it doesn't sell I would have got it cleaned anyway! I also think it is quite apt that half the proceeds of my wedding dress would go towards financing Relate!
Anyway, I now just have to get it cleaned...
