Just looked at our gift list and some lovely person on H2B's side of the family has bought us the breadmaker I really really wanted that!

Fresh warm bread here we come

Anyone have one? What do you buy to go in the thing (apart from yeast)?

We've got one, the bread is fantastic. You can get ready-make mixes from the supermarket to make different kinds of bread, you just add water.

Make sure you hand some round when you've made your first batch

Blimey - i'll be visiting you in the very near future!

I've always wanted a breadmaker but Steve says that i'll only ever use it once then put it in the cupboards (he's probably right )

What a lovely gift.

Hey Bee You just have to bung the ingredients in in the correct order. Or as J says, get a mix from the supermarket.

One of my friends did a lovely dessert bread when she first got her machine - chocolate and cherry. I think she just bunged in cocoa powder with the flour, chocolate chunks and some tinned cherries and used some cherry juice as part of the liquid.

Edited to say that cheese and onion bread is good (we've used caramelised onions and strong cheddar or parmesan) and so is sundried tomato bread (use tomatoes in oil).

We've had some equally lovely people buying from our list. My aunt and uncle and their three girls (plus husbands) have all got together and bought out a huge canteen of cutlery plus a box of steak knives!!!! Okay, so John Lewis are completely out of stock on the canteen but we can choose another one to the same value or get vouchers! We were very shocked when we saw that someone actually bought it

Yeah... that's fab!

We've got one & use it quite a bit.... in fact need to make some nice white bread to go with some honey we bought in Scotland on the weekend!

You get a receipe book with most breadmakers (well some withing the instruction book) PLUS in most good bookshops, and cheapie book shops you can buy cook books FULL of ideas of things to make in a bread maker! (I got one the other week... )
