Default !!!!! & questions

A year today and I'll be married!!!!!!!!!!!

12th June 2004 here we come!

On that note, anyone know when is a good time to give gifts to the attendants and is it ok to cut the cake before the meal? We're having very short/no speeches cos a) we don't want to make speech-givers nervous and b) we don't want to bore everyone!

Thanx

Will be celebrating our -1 year wedding anniversary tomorrw with chinese takeaway and wine. Couldn't do it tonight as H2B has only just got in cos of his overtime. But he's just got in now, so off to watch Monsters Inc with him

Woohoo!

We gave gifts out during the speeches, I think thats normally how its done. I gave them to the BM and ushers, K did it for the bridesmaids. If you're not doing speeches, then maybe at some point during the party? Or for bridesmaids, when you have them on your own before the wedding?

As regards the cake, I think you can cut it anytime.

Attendant's gifts are given out by the groom in his speech - even a very short one! It's always polite to say thanks!

Cake is often cut at the end of the meal, before the speeches, and is then served with the coffee!

God, I'm such an expert all of a sudden!

We gave our pressies before we left for the registry office as weren't having speeches eventhough we did in the end!

Our cake was cut in the evening just before the first dance.

It could be just the way in Ireland but the gifts are generally given to the attendants on the day when they arrive at the bride's/groom's house. But at the reception both the bride and groom thank their attendants as part of the speach...as Nikki say, it is polite to say thanks!
