Name and area of Store:

Pronuptia in Woking

Reason for listing?

Very helpful, plus I found THE dress there, so I'm probably biased!! Manageress isn't so great, but assistants were lovely. Pinned dresses well and lent me net underskirt so I could see if I prefered that. Didn't even mind getting a dress off the dummy in the window for me to try, as it was the only one they had in that style.

8, cos they didn't have a photo of my dress and they promised to find one and didn't get back to me - otherwise, they were great!

Name and area of Store:

******** Bridal Centre, Wokingham, Berkshire

Reason for listing?:

Right from the 1st time I had a telephone conversation with them, their service was excellent. I had saw a dress on-line and they tracked it down and got it in for me to try on. When I went to see it, they were so helpful and not pushy in the least. They let me prance about for as long as I wanted and were just genuinely nice and honest.

When I went back the following week to pay the deposit, they had kept the dress there so I could try it again even though they were meant to return it on the Monday!

I also bought my shoes and tiara there and would recommend it to anyone who needed any form of wedding atire. Its just a shame they dont do fellas suits!

Really helpful when I went to try the "shop dress" on and make my payment & have my measurments done!

The shop didn't have a massive range of larger dresses BUT the staff make up for this!

Marks out of 10: I'd have to say about an 8

I unfortunately had a bad experience with this shop. I didn't have an appointment when I called in there so they were quite rude and didn't have time for me. I chose the dress I wanted in there and got them to measure me up for it, I ended up ordering it directly from the designer off the internet (naughty I know), in the size they measured me. Turns out they had measured me a size too big when it arrived and made alterations very difficult.

I recently got engaged and I am just starting out planning my wedding. I find this forum really, really helpful. I am going to check out the vendors and I think I won't have hard time picking out the best.. Thank you so much..

I am a forty year old first time bride, with nobody to go lookiing for wedding dresses with.
I went to Wedding World in Folkestone Kent, after making an appointment at a wedding fayre. There was two of them the youngest was giving the full treatment to a young slim bride to be. She was running late and the manager opologised for this. 30 minitues later I was bundled really wroughly into into some wedding dresses, so much so that she scratched my back (my partner saw them later). They both kept whispering behind my back, as if to say that I was too fat and too old. Then when I was getting out of my third dress, she decided to go to lunch.
The long and short of it is, only go to Wedding World in Folkestone if you are slim, young and able to decide very quickly.
