Hi Helen,

Sods law isnt it! You keep them fab for weeks then just when you need them to be lovely and long, they break!

The Thursday will be absolutley fine for you to have them done. Itll give you the Friday to get used to them if youve never had them before and less time for them to get damaged or broken before the big day. The one thing i will say is stick to a length your ok with - dont go for really long just cause they are falsies if you dont normally have them that length - you wont be able to do anything!!

The other thing is try and get a technician who does it by hand if possible. By that I mean someone who doesnt use a drill - its cheaper normally but can damage the natural nail.

Good luck and if you have any other questions, you know where I am xxx

Hiya

In my experience and during my training, I found the best salons and technicians to be ones trained by and who use Creative products. Theyll have signs on the windows and posters normally as they like to be recognized!

The other things to look out for is make sure all the files, buffers and other bits are sterilized and cleaned in between clients, not just lying about and reused each time.

If the technician doesnt sound like shes listening to your wants and needs thats normally a bad sign as if if she does what you want when its not really suitable ie. really long when youve never had nails past the end before. She should listen to you and give her professional advice and reach a point where you are both happy.

Another good sign is certificates on walls and always ask about Public Liability Insurances. If they dont have that, they shouldnt have your business!

Dont mean to make it sound scary but I hate seeing people get a bad deal.

Ive had a look on Yell and found these places - dont know how close to you they are. Hope one of them is near you!

Balance Hair Studio (Stoke on Trent) 01782 746 484

Natural Beauty Nail Salon (Stoke on Trent) 01782 266 728

The Nail Room (Stafford) 01785 242 005

Look on Yell for some more under Nail Salons if these arent any good as there are loads!

Let me know how you get on xxx

Awww what a shame But, you can still have beautiful nails with false ones. Paula is a top chickie, she knows all about this kind of stuff

Hope the salon looks nice when you go to check it out.

If it's any consolation, I broke two of mine a few days before the wedidng, after growing them very carefully - the proper manicure I had the day before meant you couldn't tell which were broken off once they had colour on them - they were really well shaped!

I've also had the false ones and I think they look great!

I have my nails done by a creative tech and she is brilliant - i had them done for the wedding and taken off just afterwards as couldn't afford the upkeep but have just had them put back on because i missed them and couldn't grow my own nails...

I love em myself!

Hi

I can recommend having gel applied to your nails.

It makes them really strong so you won't break any more - they also won't chip so will look perfect on your big day.

For any that are broken they can add a false tip which doesn't show.

:-)

Hiya Helen

Personally I would always go for acryllic nails, either if I was having them done or doing them for someone. To me, they are just nicer but that doesnt mean im right - thats just my opinion.

You simply have a tip applied to the end of your nail and the 'enhancement' is then built up with 3 layers of acryllic which is liquid and powder mixed together. Thats is all buffed down so it doesnt look thick and you can either leave it natural and you can put varnish on or you can have a while tip applied in the same way of mixing liquid and powder so it stays on permanently.

Hope that helps! xxx
