We spent Friday making sure everyone had the right suits and making the rest of the favours. We took them with the cake to the hotel and at 7.30pm we went for our wedding rehearsal. My cousins little girl screamed her head off and refused to walk down the aisle which didn’t bode too well for Saturday! Afterwards, Alex went home to his mum and dad while I stayed at my parents.
The next morning, my nephew woke my up at ten to seven demanding I get up because it was my wedding that day! I got up and made us both breakfast and waited for my hairdressers to arrive. At 8.15am, one of my bridesmaids arrived, she wasn’t supposed to come until 9am but was too excited. The hairdressers arrived at 8.30am with another one of my bridesmaids and started on my hair. At 9am, the bridesmaids make up artist arrived and set to work on one of them while two of the others went to another hairdresser up the road.
My hair and makeup were done by 10.30am and the photographer arrived at 11am. We and my four older bridesmaids all got changed and at 11.30am started having some photos. We had to have them all indoors because it rained all morning until ten minutes before I left for the church but it didn’t bother me one bit!
The cars arrived at 12.15pm and at 12.30, my bridesmaids and mum left for the church. My dad and I followed in another car at 12.45.
I got to church where I was met by all ten of my bridesmaids and my four page boys! They all looked gorgeous!

My brother took h2b to the church in his Ferrari but when he got out of the car, he split his trousers!!
I felt absolutely fine until I walked into the church and saw all of the people waiting then I wanted to burst into tears. I soon calmed down when h2b fell out of the pew when he was standing up!! He was so nervous. We had a trumpeter playing the trumpet voluntary as I walked down the aisle. He was fab! The kids were absolute angels in church, we hardly had one squeak and considering we had 20 there from 5 weeks old upwards, they were great.
We said our vows and the best man dropped the rings twice!!
Outside the church we all milled around and everyone blew bubbles, they look great on the pictures, then we left the church for the hotel. It was nice to have a few minutes to ourselves, and chat about the day so far.
Hubby and I went to a lake near the hotel for a couple of pics, and as we got out of the wedding car, someone driving past tooted their horn and shouted ‘congratulations’ out of the window which was really nice.
We went back to the hotel for pics, which I have but my scanner has broken so I haven’t had the chance to scan them yet.
At this point it was really hot and the air conditioning in the hotel was rubbish so everyone was boiling hot. The meal was lovely although I don’t think hubby enjoyed it much – he was too busy fretting over his speech!
After the meal, there was only an hour until the evening do started so we just milled around chatting to everyone. After everyone had stuffed themselves silly on the gorgeous buffet, the dance floor was full. Everyone was drunk (apart from me, I did too much dancing and talking to drink!)
At the end of the night about 1am, we had a last dance and made our way upstairs. Everyone else apparently stayed up until after three.
The next day I wore my t-shirt with ‘The happiest girl in world’ on and we went on our honeymoon to Australia which was absolutely amazing.
I can’t believe it’s all over, still waiting to get our video back but the photos are fab. It was the best day ever!
