just wondering if anyone knows roughly how much dress alterations will cost???? :confused: i havnt actually budgeted for this and was just trying to get some sort of idea of what it will cost? i know it will obviously depend on what needs altering,ill be needing a bit taken off the shoulders and hopefully a bit off the waist (depending on how the diet goes ) i dont need it shortening as its the perfect length for me with my shoes on

so if anyone has any idea, just so i know what to expect it'll be a great help.

The shop I'm getting my dress from will charge £40 no matter how many fittings I have, but I know others charge by the hour (I seem to think £15 p.h was what one shop said!)

My shop said each thing hem, sleeve holes, shoulders, waist was charged separately 4.50 here, 3.75 there, and that the whole lot shouldn't come to much over £40. Then again another shop thought £130 was reasonable - although this is a lot compared to others. Just ask if you need to budget for it.

I'm being charged £10 an hour for my alterations. Guess that's quite expensive, but then I expected it to be a lot more considering I'm living in London . The fitter reckons it'll take between 3-4 hours to alter my dress, so hopefully shouldn't have to pay more than £40. I'll let you know if it was worth the money when I get my dress back in a couple of weeks :hmm: . Georgie C
