Default About travelling and kids

I've heard that if I don't change my name after I'm maried and my kids get my h2b's name it will cause problems when I want to travel with our kids. I would need a document from h2b in which he states that the kids are allowed to travel with me. Does anyone know about this?

What about if I get a double barreled name, ie my surname first and then his?
I don't really want to do this though, I just want to stay Janneke Jansen. How ridiculous would it be if you'd need permission from your husband to travel with your own kids?!?!?

In the U.K. children now have their own passports so you don't need any permisson to take them abroad. I have taken our children abroad when my H2B has not come with us and i have had no problems. Also my children have been taken abroad by their grandparents (with a different suranmes) and again there were no problem.

To find out for sure, why don't you check out the passport website?

www.ukps.gov.uk

Hope that helps

I've never heard of that Janneke. As Fran suggested, contact the passport office and check with them.
