hi bev

im having favours ive made my own, they are just the normal ones with netting and ribbon tied around with a flower in the middle, but i think they look very nice indeed! :)

why dont you get little minitures of whiskey/vodka etc for your guests, you can get them with the label stating the name of bride and groom and date of wedding which would be something to keep. or what about scrolls for each guest with a poem inside?????? ;) this web site do them: www.weddingrealm.com

i think the scrolls that they do are lovely the message says:

this day for us is special,
a time beyond compare,
the joy we feel deep in our hearts,
we\'re glad our guests could share.

your presence here with us,
means more than words can say
please keep this small memento
to remind you of our day.

HTH :D

Luv
claire
xx :)

Hi Claire :D

I think we would love to do something for our guests, but money is so tight that if we can cut back on things that most of them won\'t notice then we\'re happy to do that. I\'m having awful trouble finding work down here, already gone from having platinum wedders to white gold to save (heaps!) of cash, and desperately cutting back wherever we can. the consensus from friends and family is that they had never seen favours at weddings before so I thought they won\'t miss wnat they\'ve never had. ;) Bridesmaid mentioned just having a bowl of sweeties on every table, which is probably quite do-able. :)

Thanks for that link though. :D

Hi Bev

Its me!!! We are having paper bags with a 10p mix inside as our favours, tied with a bit of a string and then a name tag for each guest, so it can double as place names! A bit retro and good for those with a sweet tooth!

If you are going for bowls of sweets another idea would be jelly beans you can pick your own flavours ( maybe matching your colour theme?) you can buy them here http://www.cybercandy.co.uk/
they are £15 a kilo
and they have ALL 40 flavours!
and I think they deliver round the world you\'ll have to check out the site for details.

Oooooh - Jelly Belly\'s!! I love those!!! :o Possibly not a good idea, I\'m likely to go round to all the tables under the pretence of saying hi, and stuffing my face with my fave sweeties. ;)

Actually been thinking about this, well MArk has ;), and have posted in your other thread Lynsey. ;)

I\'m dead tempted Lynsey, I really am. I\'m a funny one really - never worn anything smarter than a school iniform in my life, and all of a sudden I\'m starting to look at sparkly beaded mules and go \"Hmmm . . . maybe\". Erm . . NO! I have the widest feet on God\'s earth and I can\'t even get my toes into these tiny bloody creations. So really don\'t know what to do. :( Part of me says it\'s just for this one day, you want to make the best of it, won\'t get another chance blah blah bla, and another part says sod it! Be yourself and flout tradition. I think I just need to have a look in the shop over here and see what I can find that my fat ickle foots will fit into. ;)
