Taking H2B's Surname?
Is anyone not going to take on his name?? i have heard that women tend not to until after the birth of their first child but i can't wait to be Mrs Roberts (or should it be knight-roberts??)
Confused now....

I will be, from the off! We've even got our honeymoon tickets in his name. Roz Judd has been haunting me for years as an ugly grunt whereas Roz Eastman sounds tons better - more syllables helps I think!

I'll be taking h2bs surname too, though I'm not quite as organised as Roz, so will be travelling under my maiden name.
I'm looking to start a new job on return from our honeymoon, so it should be a fairly easy transition.

I'm keeping my own name, simply because I think it sounds silly to have a dutch name and an english surname... then there's also the thing that my h2b's surname pronounced in dutch means 'biscuit'... and if I have any say in it I'd rather not be Janneke 'biscuit'!
In the Netherlands the bride normally keeps her own name as well as taking her hubbie's name, ie my mum is Mrs Jansen-Smeets, which I think is quite nice as long as it wouldn't be Janneke 'biscuit'-Jansen for me!
Not sure if the in-laws are too impressed by me keeping my own name though

I am definatly changing mine. I have got my new passport already, it is sitting in a box waiting for me to be able to use it. I am double barreling my name for work as I am just getting established as a singer but it's only for work.
Adrian is very excited about me taking his name. I know he wouldn't have asked me to marry him if he didn't think I would take his name. It wasn't that long ago I wouldn't have but I changed my mind.
I can't wait, less than 8 weeks to go.

also my son already has h2b name so it woudnt be right me having my name on my own lol
its all down to personal preference i think.

I'm also having H2b's name, but am travelling on honeymoon in my maiden name, due to the fact that the passport has to be valid for 3 months before hand, and I don't fancy having to wait for another 3 months!
Wish I could have used it straight away tho!

Oops, I feel like an oddball now - I'm keeping mine. I did think about double barreling, but Beverley Shortland-Bridgeman is possibly taking the piss.

I don't care how silly it sounds - I'm going to take ben's surname.
So I'll have an italian first name and a dutch surname. very bizarre..

Cool - Glad that so many of you are taking his name on.. A double barrelled name would be funny bev imagine what your signature would be trying to squeeze it onto little line tee hee

Karen hasn't told me what she's doing yet (ooh, tenterhooks ). Its been narrowed down to either her taking my surname or double barrelling it (with my surname first).
I've been trained to say I'm not bothered .
I really am not bothered actually.

Mark is actually very excited about having a wife with a different name to his. I think alot of my desire not to do it is that he has two brothers, one of whom is already married, and by taking his name I'd just become another 'wife' (if that makes any sense?) especially as his sister in law is so different to me (quite domesticated, baby, etc). It makes me feel seperate from the rest of his family - and I know I'm an oddball, but I like that. Love them to bits, but I've never been brought up with a close extended family, so I like to be a bit of a loner. I also quite like having my name, and when I think about it I don't see why we should have to change (although for those that choose to change it's a different thing).

I'm going to be Mrs P eill from as soon as I sign that little book confirming it!!!
(well my passport will still be in my maiden name as I'm being lazy and haven't sorted stuff out etc.... plus I think every thing else will change after the wedding etc when I do my change of address too!)
I'm really looking forward to being Mrs P eill though.... sounds good! (I'm Heather Cannon at the moment!)
