Nessa I just got the shock of my life when I saw your avatar!! I HATE the Incredible Hulk!!

I've been scared of him since I was about 6. I've turned all the avatars off now so I can't see him. But I'm thinking this may be my chance to try and overcome my phobia and face up to Lou Ferrigno once and for all!

Not just now though, got to get over the shock first.

No Nessa, I must conquer this once and for all. Apart from anything else I am sick of people laughing at me every time I tell them I'm frightened of a kids TV character.

Although I do very much see the funny side myself.

I was petrified of the Daleks in Doctor Who!!

Still can't watch it now!!

Maybe someone should have that as their avatar!!

People must have thought I was barmy, as I just couldn't stop laughing as I was reading it!

I can just imagine you sitting there all nice and quietly then bam! off the chair!

Ness, you're not the only one to have been scared at the sight of the Dalek's, my Si was terrified of them. Now's he reserves his fear for only clowns and pigeons ( we're talking breaking out in cold sweats scared here folks

)

oh Bev, you may have to face your fear of the old hulk man, there's a film being done, not sure when it'll be out though. It's not Lou Ferrino though it's all CGI, so could either be really scarey or just look ridiculously funny.

Personnaly I think they should have got HHH from WWF and just painted him green. ( I confess, I'm a wrestling fan

Fiona - I know what you mean! I was worried about that actually. I thought they will have loads of stuff in the papers and mags about it and that they'll probably start showing it on TV again and everything.

So I really do have to get over it. I saw a fab programme about phobias, and the guy was saying that it's the first couple of seconds that makes you panic, and that if you can stay in the vacinity of your phobia for 10mins then your doing very well! I think the basis is that you see that it isn't actually going to harm you - well, I know that anyway

but if I get used to seeing his face it might take the panic out of it for me. *gulp*

OOPs...Just been made aware of my stupidity !

Si was scared of the cybermen in Dr Who NOT the Daleks and ...wait for it ...the HULK ! Doh!

He just told me that when he was really little he was scared stiff of the big green guy. His gran had bought him an inflatable punch bag ( the kind you hit and it bounces back up). His dad blew it up for him and put it in the middle of his room so that when he got up on Christmas morning it was just standing there ready for him. That morning he ran into the room looking for all his pressies, ran straight into the hulk, and ran away screaming and hid somewhere

Just had to get this new smilie in there somwhere

Oh my God that would have been my worst nightmare! I remember walking around Block Buster a few years ago with my flatmates at Uni and I walkied into the kiddies aisle and THERE HE WAS!!!!

I thought I was going to collapse! I started to sweat and my heart was thumping so fast. It's so irrational, and such a ridiculous thing to have to avoid, but I suppose most phobias are. I just wish I had a more sensible one.

People do have such wierd phobia's don't they!! Not saying that you're wierd Bev!

I think my wierdest one is chalk!!! Yes Chalk! It makes me go all goosebumply and sends a cold shiver down my spine, and I keep swallowing, as if I'm going to

Even know it's making me feel sick!!

I think it was because that was my mum's craving when she was pregnant with me!!
