practicing.....
this is on a bit of a tangent to the "what are your initals going to be" thread, but have any of you practiced writing your new name?
i have (boredom inspires odd pastimes!) and it seems really weird to me, how about anyone else?

I do it too, and to be honest I LOVE IT!!! I guess I've done it so many times now that it feels almost as natural as my name at the moment!!

I tried my new signature the evening we got engaged!!! How sad is that!!
Just a thought - after the ceremony do you sign the register in your new name or old ?? (I know the registrar will tell me - I just wondered now!!)

I have practised my signature, and now I have done it that often, that I have to think twice before signing cheques and stuff!!

I'm trying not to practice it to much otherwise I know I'll end up signing EVERYTHING as Heather P eill, not a good thing at all!!
I can't wait to start signing things as Mrs P eill though, I'll feel so proud!

Kate, you sign the register with your maiden name, weird huh considering you are married by that point.

I haven't had a practice at my new signature yet - Guess I should do though.
Any ideas when you should start informing banks etc. that your name is going to be changing?

Hi Em,
I've been told that it's best about a month before the wedding.
But I can't see it being that much of an issue to do it after.

Yeah I did too
Oh yes I did try what would my new name be, and then it really makes me wonder if I should opt for keeping my name, double barelling etc...
And also how does your new name takes effect? Do you have to fill in any other thing or do as I heard a poll????
pheeew, so much I need to research on...
And the date is for the Saturday 25th May 2002, LOL!!!
