how is everyone getting to their ceremony/reception?
i'm currently looking at horse drawn carriages, but like the idea of an old classic vintage car.

I'm getting to wedding ceremony under my own steam!! Staying at the hotel the night before so I'll be walking from my room, down the stairs and into the ceremony!
(I have a sneaky feeling I'll feel like a queen! )

My mum has organised the cars, but think I'm going in some kind of Rolls Royce. Not too bothered about the car really - as long as it gets me there, thats fine by me!

It wasn't one of those things I wanted to spend much money on so its a 1980s Rolls Silver Spirit, but it big, clean and plush inside and the firm are very reliable, and used to belong to some guy called Bruce from the Shadows - well it impressed my mum!
My dream car it one of those teeny tiny Smart cars - I had this idea of a fleet of them (you can hire them for £35 a day, but we would has needed loads of drivers, or had to drive ourselves - another compromise. Sigh!
What is that 'Rofl' smilie?
Like the Star wars one!

I am going in a bentley and it is very nice we have it available to take us for a drive after the ceremony if we wish but H2B can't understand that as we would be missing for 30 mins whilst our guest's eat!! humph!

We haven't decided yet...
we're either borrowing my auntie's Mercedes (yes...WE, as h2b's picking me up at my parent's house following dutch tradition) or my dad's friend's Rolls.
My cousin's driving so all we would pay for if we go for the rolls is petrol. The merc would be free.
I would love to go in an open top beetle, but it would be chilly in november... also h2b doesn't agree

I am staying at the reception venue but am getting married about a 5 minute drive away in church. It does seem silly hiring a vintage car as its only down the road but how else would I get there?
I really envy all you people getting married in the same venue - you've saved about £400!!

no cars for us we will be walking from the church to the gardens of the B&B across the road and then down the main road through the village to the hotel. with all the guests walking along with us.
We have friends who own clydesdales and are looking to get a carriage for them to pull but I don't think they will have it by the wedding.

collette, im really jealous of you as we wanted a horse and carriage but unfortunatly where im getting married in Wales is too hilly for a horse to pull a carriage up so we had to opt for the cars instead (poor horses would have taken 5 hours to pull us up the reall really steap hill! )
nevermind
