Do your parents like your other half?
I'm very lucky in that they took to him as soon as they met him. They've only had a couple of opportunities to see him really, but mum talks to him all the time online and I know that bother her and my dad think the world of him.

My parents don't see much of me and Karen (even though I'm only about half an hour away, we're just not a "close" family), but they certainly like her.
I've met Karen's Dad a few times as well (he lives much further away) and we get on fine, I understand he likes me from what Karen says! Can't understand him all the time though, v. thick Irish accent .
Karen's brother just keeps making comments about how little hair I have. I think he's trying to take attention away from his bald patch! I have more than him, I just choose to have it cut short .

Chris knew my parents from before we started seeing each other - as we've been aquaintances and then friends since we were 9!
So it's never been an issue! And he's a nice bloke, who wouldn't like him? My sister is seeing someone who when he first came to visit kept snogging Nicola on the sofa in front of us and he'd take his shoes and socks off and pick his feet and was just generally obnoxious!! They've been together 7 & 1/2 years now and he has mellowed but I don't think he can be bothered with families. It'll be interesting to see if he comes to the wedding!
But, back to the point, yes M&D like Chris, and I think (hope) his parents like me too!

My mum used to think that the sun shone from Rich's bum but recently she has been acting quite cold towards him, i think she is a bit miffed that i have moved further up north with him rather than live next door to her.
Rich and my father get on great, they usually end up drunk together. The have only known each other for about a year now but i think that relationship imporves everytime we go down to visit which is relly nice because my father can be quite wierd at time especially when it comes to boyfriends but he is very chilled and is very excited about the wedding (i think!!!)

Steve and first went out in '91' when we were 18 but I like to think we weren't ready to be together and so we broke up (we'll he finished with me and broke my in the process.
My mum said that she would "never allow that boy in the house again" but 5 years later he got back in touch (he had been discussing relationships with a friend who had asked what his biggest regret was, he replied finishing with Maria and so his friend told him to bite the bullett and get in touch, we took things slowly at first but realised we were madly in love and moved in together after 6 months)
Anyway after Steve being petrified about meeting them again, he is like a son to my dad who thinks the world of him and my mum thinks he's the bees knees! They had their resevations at first but Steve is the most wonderful man and is definatly my soul mate so he won them over.
I definatley put it down to fate and if anyone had told me five years ago that I would be back with him let alone marrying him in June I would have laughed in their face.
Feel a bit slushly now so i'm off
Mia

mine love ged but never get to see him that often as we live one and a half hrs away and hes at work a lot.
however, on the other hand i get on with his parents great theyre just like a second set of parents to me and i love them dearly.
I do think myself quite lucky when i read these horror stories on certain wedding sites that mil2b are taking over the wedding etc etc

My parents absolutely love Eric. They like him more than they like me. I usually come home to find Eric & dad playing video games.

My mum totally adores Matt! She thinks he's wonderful, and yep like a few others have said, I'm sure she prefers him to me sometimes!
I've not met his parents (long story) but his close friends seem to like me from what he's said so that's as good as anything for me!!
H
PS Mind you once he's taken "Mum's Taxi" miles away things might change....

Yes, they do like him though they were a bit unsure to start with as I split up from my first fiance (together for 6 years and engaged for two) for him and he is 11 years older than me! But they have gotten over that I am glad to say.
Cupid, there is the same age difference for us, I have never noticed people acting strangely towards us but then I don't really care what everyone thinks as long as my friends and family understand, which everyone usually does when they see how happy we are together!

Nope...though I think they're the only people in the world who don't First it was his weight...then he lost weight...now it's "You should never have gotten involved with someone from another country, now he's making you leave your home and family." Uh...no I'm moving to Britain, but I might have done that anyway, and he would have been just as happy in the US, but I insisted on living there! Getting away from my parents for a while will be nice
