Default Disposable camera's

We're thinking of putting disposable camera's on the tables and getting people to take photos for us.

I've heard that some camera's are better than others and have been looking in places like boots to see if they have any offers on.

Is it worth doing this or do the photo's not come out very well. Also can anyone recommend a camera or are they all pretty much the same.

Thanks

Teresa xx

I got camera's from one of the camera developing shops at £5 each inc processing. I can't tell you what the photos were like as I never seen any! People lifted them to take away despite the cards on the tables asking them to hand them back! In retrospect I wouldn't put cameras on tables again........most people bring thier own anyway.

I agree

We had them, but they aren't all that cheap.
People get too piss*d to use them and forget to push the flash, so the pictures were a bit cr*p.

I'd just spread the word to other guests that you would like copies of their films....

We used the ones you get from either Max Spielman or Klick, can't remember what they're called now, "wow" or something. They were pretty good, everyone knew the drill at the reception and we got a lot of good photos and got some images we would have otherwise missed. I'd do it again, certainly.

We're definitely having them. I had them last time I got married and some of the photos were excellent and it was nice to get pictures of the guests enjoying themselves. Out of 7 cameras there were only 4 stupid photos so I didn't think that was bad.

If you have them you really need someone to be in charge of them. Of the seven we had, we got four back on the day, one about three months later, and then another one was developed and the pictures sent to us on our first anniversary. I have no idea what happened to the other one.

We had Boots disposables and got a couple of reasonable shotas, but none that were that great. We did better from the couple of people who took digital cameras and sent us CDs full of pictures.

We had them. We put one camera on each table and it was one of the best things we could have done. The resulting piccies have been fab and "tell" a fantastic story of our day.

I bought Kodak cameras from Sainsbury's - they were on special at the time for only £4 each. Ok, so they weren't white and sparkly, just plain old black, but I don't think anybody cared much! The pictures came out very well, apart from a few that were taken by Tim's 4 year old niece!!!!!!!!

Before we started eating, Tim stood up and thanked everyone for coming and asked them to please use the cameras and to leave them on the tables afterwards. It worked well. We were also warned about people not bothering to use the cameras, which is why we decided for Tim to mention them.

I can't recommend pricing nor my experiences as I haven't had my wedding yet ~ but I will definitely be having camera's out as I don't want to leave missing anything out from the day to chance.

I do have confidence that the camera's will be taken care of, and also I am going to ask my brother to collect them at a certain time in the evening.

If the camera film hasn't been used fully, he'll probably ask them to use it up and he'll be back in half an hour etc.

I do think it is a good idea though

Another one who cant give advice based on their experience but were definatley having them. We'll probably use Boots as theyve always been good in the past and we want to make sure we get decent piccies. I know a lot of them will be c**p but I think its worth it for the few good ones you might get - after all, you miss so much of whats going on around you on the day.

Were intending to do the same as karen and get one of our ushers to collect them at some point in the evening so hopefully we wont loose too many!

We've got them - from con fetti. They worked out at about £5 each, inc free processing. But that was with a discount at the NAtional Wedding Show in Birmingham. They're great though - come in loads of different colours to match your theme!!

we got ours from Argos they were pack of 9 wedding cameras (needed 2 packs though, i have since seen them in the ASDA superstores aswell not sure on price of those ones though) we paid £49.00 for them with free developing (just had to pay £1 p&p)and they were deffinatly one of the best things we done.

There was a card supplied with each camera which explained to people how to use them and to hand to the best man at the end of the night, but just to make sure people knew our best man brought it up in the speach and we did get them all back .

What was nice aswell was the majority of the tables took sensible photos of each other before the wine started flowing so we had some really decent ones from the day time and some really funny ones when everyone was drunk, they deffinatly captured bits of the day which you cant remember i remember when we got ours back saying OMG did i do that ! etc ..... as there are shots which are taken and you have no idea at the time !

well worth every penny i say even if you do get the odd crap ones which had no flash used.

love
claire
