We thought that we had our photographer sorted out. A friend of my dads was going to do it for us as he is a photographer but not a wedding one. He's been to see my dad as he doesn't seem very confident about doing our photos as he's only ever done one wedding before. He's worried that he won't do a good enough job and that we'll be disappointed with what he can do so has backed out. The wedding photos that he did last year were really good and so we're not worried.

I'm going to ring him tonight I think and see if he will reconsider. I'm glad he's being honest as if he doesn't really think he's up to it then I'm glad he's said so now. Its just a right pain as he was doing it really cheap for us as I've known him almost all my life and he's a really good friend of my dad. We haven't budgeted for anything a lot more expensive and so I'm not sure what to do. I've emailed a few photographers to see if they are free on our date and to see how much they charge.

I hope we get something sorted out and they aren't all booked. Otherwise we'll just have to get everyone to bring their camera's along and take snapshots for us.

Oh dear

I admire your Dads friends honesty in his lack of confidence etc, but hopefully you will be able to persuade him otherwise. If you weren't happy with the photo's of the wedding he did do, you would never have asked him to do your photo's.... You need to really emphasise that.

I hope it all works out, but I would give him some time to really think it over!

On the otherhand, if things do fall through with him, I sincerely hope (and I am so sure) that you would be able to find someone who is able to do your wedding photography within your budget.
(Even if you have to pay more, but cut back in other area's of your wedding budget)

Sorry to hear that your dads friend may not be doing your piccies for you, but try to remember if he doesnt, its just because he wants your day to be perfect. Its also very brave and honest of him to say so now rather that 2 weeks before.

I understand why you want him to do it as hes close to your family but he'll still be there and be part of your day.
