Default I've got another Bridesmaid

I've got myself another bridesmaid so now I have two. My cousin is coming over from Canada especially to come to the wedding so I've asked her to be a bridesmaid for me and she was really pleased and excited. My younger sister is my other one.

We were all chatting on msn at the weekend and between them they've decided that they want to wear a dark red dress. Looks like that decision has been made for me but it sounds lovely.

Not sure what to do about the dress for my cousin. I think I will have to get her size and just order it. Then I could maybe post it out there and she could get it altered if she needs to. Not sure though. Has anyone got any tips with how to sort out dresses for people coming from abroad??

I'm really pleased that she's coming and now we can start to get organised with the dresses.

Blimey I didn't realise there was so much to do to plan a wedding.

How nice, I bet she was thrilled you asked her!!

I agree with your theory - thats what I did! One of my CM's travelled from Italy. I bought a dress a size bigger then I thought she would be (we couldnt work out what she was in UK sizes!) and then I couriered it to her. She had it altered in Italy and brought it over with her for the wedding. I bought her shoes etc but she didnt get a chance to try them on tile the day, luckily they fitted

I think doing that would be your best bet

Aw, no wonder your cousin is so excited! What a pleasure.....

I think her and your sister will look fab, dark red dresses sound lovely. Have you any idea of what style of dress yet?

I haven't any advise on dealing with dress fitting for someone who lives abroad, but I think Bianca's advice sounds great. Hopefully as well, it wouldn't cost too much to send the dress either...

Take care, Karen xx

It cost me about 10 pounds to courier the dress to italy - next day delivery too. I was so impressed!

My sister and her daughters were going to be my bridesmaids and the dresses I want are also supplied in South Africa. If the pound had carried on been so strong I was going to have my daughter and Brians niece measured up here and then get my sister to order all the dresses there. The way the exchange rate was the dresses were working out at about £75 each rather than £120 each here. She was then going to fetch them all with her. As it is now we don't think she'll be coming but it was a good idea!

I'd say go with Bees advice! You can get the dress to her in plenty of time for any alterations to be carried out and then it's one less thing for you to have to worry about.

That's lovely, Get her exact measurements and get a roughly the right sie dress, then send it over to her for adjustments, definitely!
