I finally got an email today from them offering a bargain buffet price of £4+VAT per head for a minimum of 150 peeps.
I've written back saying that we can't afford this cost so late in the day (& don't want to finance food that everyone isn't expecting). In a nutshell they have responded that they empathise with our situation but they have to confirm to their licensing restrictions...so tough t*tty!
We're gonna go for the 11:00pm bar closure. Mikey is gonna speak to them this afternoon & see how this is gonna affect everything so I'll let ya'll know.
I'm sure there's a legal issue in there somewhere but let's face it, it's a really horrible situation...I don't want their oversight to spoil our day but I also don't want them to ruin our day by not giving us the same service as everyone else!!
That'll teach me for wanting to get married in a flash place, you wouldn't get this sort of agro from Hackney registry office!!!

Sure all your friends will be to pissed to even realise anyway....like you said, one thing you might as well just deal with, who needs to stress at this stage......

It won't really matter on the day.

They are really taking the p1ss. Yes, there some legal thing regarding bar staying open and food having to be served but not one that states that you have to cover 150 min at £4 a head.

On the day though I promise that it won't matter. Various things went wrong on my day but I really didn't care - Trev and I had a ball and that is what counts. It will be the same for you and Mikey. You could get your best man to make a joke of it to get the message across about the time the bar will be closed at....so people can stock pile!!! (or maybe that is just Irish weddings!).

don't let the buggers get to you girl or we will just have to send around the MGW bus and all of us have a "little chat" with them....Sicillan style!!
