Hi
My colour scheme is Iris / forgetmenot blue and gold.
My theme of the wedding is shakespeare. On all the tables I am having his sonnets written out and for favours I am giving little sonnet books.
I also have the music fromthe Shakespeare in Love film and will have that playing when we enter the dining hall. (we come down a big staircase into the hall).

Hi Jo :)
Going with ice blue, silver and purple - all my fave colours. The wedding jewellery is all white so we knew we wanted cold colours anyway, and my dress has some ice blue beads on it. :)
Haven\'t decided on a theme yet. Common themes between the two of us could include Iron Maiden (he works for them and thats how we met), Harry Potter, or anything to do with Australiana - he\'s an Aussie and I\'m living down under for a year before the wedding so it will be a fresh idea. We haven\'t decided yet though. :)

Lilac and Silver!!
I picked it before it was \"this years colour\"
We chose it because:
My h2b best mate was killed in a car crash last may, he was supposed be best man! His racing car was lilac so we wanted to incorporate him in someway, we felt this was the best way. Also silver, because it just looked so damned good on my moh.
Theres my story!!!

I had a big dilemma about this because I fell in love with a silvery dress, but then I looked again at all the rooms we\'ll be using and, although they are fairly neutral, they are kind of gold ish, so I wasn\'t allowed silver - H2B and I debated this one over many pints of fine ale one sunday afternoon (we\'ve found it\'s the only way we get things done as otherwise I just witter on needlessly) - so as our room is deep cream (rather than properly gold) we\'ve gone for deep purple (thistles and cornflowers) and dark green (foliage - keeping the cost down if we make it part of the plans!!)
So, rather long winded but there it is.!

I\'m all confused.
I thought we were having purple, but having tried on a dress with gold embroidery, now I\'m not sure....

My colours are going to be Gold Red and Purple. I have a bit of a thing for purple and I love red and purple together, and I was never going to have a white dress, always a gold one! Lovely colours!

Hi
I\'m having real problems with this aspect of it. Can anyone suggest anything?
The church has a red carpet and dark pews, the reception venue has a deep red colouring, the BM dresses are a golden yellow colour, and I want a pink bouquet!!
Its just going to look daft.
(head hurts)
I\'m not sure what colours for the flowers, ushers, table decs etc etc...
Please help if you can..
Mel

PS I don\'t like red.

Mel,
I don\'t think you should worry coordinating yourself and bm\'s to the church!
I think you can carry a bouquet of whatever colour you want. Would you normally worry that you outfit didn\'t go with the colour of paint of your walls! I really don\'t think people will be saying... ooh! Look at Mel, she clashes with the church carpet.
Go for pink if thats what you want.

Hi Em,
thanks for that. You\'re probably right. I think there can be a lot of pressure to coordinate though.. mags, other weddings, mothers etc.
I will have my pink roses!!!

Mel,
In mags though, remember they tend to shoot the pics in very neutral colours, plus they can play around and enhance imagery/colours.
Most churches have dark wooden pews, and use dark purples and reds. don\'t they?
Also - in the scheme of the day you are only really in the church a very short amount of time. Most the photos will be taken outside, and at your reception venue!
Have you decided on how your bouquet is going to look yet?

Hi Em,
You\'re right again!! how did you get so wise?
I think i know what I\'d like for my bouquet - I found a couple of photos in mags, but can\'t find anything so far online.
Our scanner isn\'t up and running, though I might be able to do something with the Digi camera. I\'ll try tonight and will post it if it comes out okay.
How about you? Any the wiser?

Don\'t know if I\'m wise - perhaps more cynical... when it comes to mags etc anyway!
I haven\'t found a pic of anything that I really like yet either. I think I\'m going to go for a posy or handtied thing and include white roses, I really like the david austin roses which look very like little peonys (which I love, unfortunately they aren\'t in bloom in April though) and mix them with lily of the valley, some kind of leaf and maybe rosemary or eucyluptus (think I totally mis-spelt that).
Tell me about scanner problems - I\'m getting very annoyed with mine.... it decided to die this w/e - most inconvient!.

Hi,
I was thinking of lily of the valley too and maybe some white freesias (purely for the smell)
Rosemary\'s quite a traditional thing isn\'t it? I really like the idea, but I don\'t like the scent. Its very frustrating.
Have you been to any florists?
I\'ve started getting photos from my regular camera developed onto a CD. it saves a lot of messing around. hate scanners.

Not sure yet!
I saw a brilliant bouquet at a wedding fair I went too last year, before I had even got my dress and I saw a silver and blue one there! Hence gave me the idea!!
Hopefully she will be there again, so I can have another look!!!
Something different as well I thought!
