I'm in the middle of making our invites. If I do say so myself I'm quite impressed with my handywork. Its not nearly as hard as I thought it would it would be and I'm quite enjoying getting creative.
Just wondering about the inserts now and how to word them. Although we are paying for almost the whole thing ourselves, both sets of parents have contributed a bit.
Should we just have the invites go out from us like this:
Teresa Jane Perrott
and
Paul James Grist
request the honour of the presence of
................
blah de blah
Or do you think we should word it so that we include the parents as well so its
Teresa
and
Paul
and their parents
....
Sorry wasn't sure what to do and if its OK to just have the invites go out from us as we are hosting and paying for almost everything.
Thanks

I think it is purely down to personal taste, but if you are paying for the majority of the wedding then don't feel you have to put 'your parents' on there too, but on the other hand you might like them to be on the invites.
We just had us as the hosts for our wedding, as we had organised the whole day, and even though our parents contributed some money towards our day, it was completely all our ideas and what we wanted.
Good luck, and i am sure what ever you decide will be lovely.

We're not going to have the parents on there either, even though they have been very generous in contributing and helping to organise so far!
I think as we live together and are not leaving the parental home, so to speak, it seemed a bit odd to think about having them on there. Plus my parents are divorced and remarried - we'd need a giant invitation!
As with everytihng, I say it's up you!

Were having my parents as the host as they are paying for most of it, and to be honest, I wouldnt leave them off even if we were paying for it but thats just me!
Its totally up to you as its such a personal thing.
I'm glad the invitations are coming along well, I can't wait to see the final result!
With regards to the wording, follow your heart and put down as you feel best.
I am going to have my parents on the invite, really because I want to. I am their first daughter marrying, and its something I want to do. (We are paying for most of the wedding, although both sets of parents are contributing)
It is quite normal for invitations to have the bride & groom request company though rather than the parents etc, so I would worry too much about that!
Hope it all works out fine, hugs, Karen x
