When we postponned the wedding, we were really lucky and didnt loose much money at all - £100 to the photographer.
The venue was the biggest deposit we'd paid and they said we could have it back after the day if they re-sold the date. We werent really sure so wrote the money off but ive just come home and theres an e-mail from the hotel saying the cheque is on its way to us!!! Apparently they cant see a reason to hold it as if the couple who have it booked now cancel, they have their deposit!
So we now have £1500 that we werent banking on
Its just going straight back in the wedding account but im so pleased to have it

Lo, it was the Runnymede. I sent them a big Thankyou e-mail last night and we will definately be going back when we re-set the date.
Dawn, the money will be going straight in the wedding account for when we re-book it all! A holiday may have been on the cards but we're off to Cyprus anyway.
