What should I wear???
Hello everyone. I am having a bit of a dilemma trying to decide what to wear for my wedding. I have two choices...one is the traditional white gown (the one I chose is to die for) and the other is a ruby red designer gown that I keep going back to over and over again. My fiance says he thinks I should go with the red gown. It may sound bad, but believe me, this dress is beautiful!!! Everyone I've talked to seems to think that since it's a winter wedding that a red gown would look gorgeous. Our color scheme is black and silver with red accents...well, this gown would be one heck of an accent! Plus, my fiance wants to wear a red vest and tie with his tux. I guess I just need some more feedback on what other women think before I make up my mind. I'm really torn between the two. It may help that the white dress is $550.00 and the red one is $1,500.00 - but for that one perfect day I don't want to consider prices. Please help!!!!

I think you should go defintaely go for the red one! It sounds like your whole day is going to be a bit moderen with the colours so the red one would fit in perfect.
And like you said, if you dont have to think about the cost of it just for thi one time, then dont - have the one you truly want.
Any chance of a piccie?!

Nikki, I still love your dress so much!

If you keep going back to it then you probably should go for it
One of our best friends is getting married next month, and is making her onw dress-in a deep red raw silk. Make some economies elsewhere if you must - get a relative to bake the cake, borrow some nice cars instead of hiring them - get the Bridesmaids cheaper dresses?
We want pictures! Nikki was delighted she had her red dress as you can see in the link.
Good luck with it all.

The red one sounds divine, if you really want it you should have it as you don't want to spend forever wishing you had got the red one

I agree with everyone else, it really appears that you desperately want the red dress.... follow your heart honey, you only (hopefully) get married once.

You ladies are great!
Well, it appears that you all back me up in choosing the red gown. It really is beautiful. I was unable to attach a pic (it's too big), but if you would like to look it up the designers name is Maggie Sottero and the dress name is very fittingly "Temptation".
Thank you so much for your input. Nikki, if you read this, your gown is beautiful, and after seeing the pic of you in it I think I've made up my mind.
Red looks so much better on me than white...and I do want to look ultra sexy on my big day and all.
I will let you all know my final decision (but i think you know what that will be)

Go with the red! I've decided I'm having a red dress but the one I want is expensive so I'm going to see if I can get someone to make me one like it. Either that or win the lottery!

That's it!!!
Yes, that's the one! Thank you so much for posting it. I love it so much...but it does cost a pretty penny. If I do go with it I know that I'll really have to cut corners in other areas, but I'm a crafty kind of gal, so I think we'll manage. I would try to have someone make a knock-off of it, but I'm afraid it wouldn't be the same. I love this one just the way it is...no different.
Thanks for all of your encouragement. I can't wait to let you all know when/if I get it!!!

We live in Syracuse. So many place are already booked for that time of year...and this far in advance. We're trying to get a place that's dark and rustic looking (we have one in mind) that will help to make the dress fit in even more.

RED! RED!!!! I love red!!!!! That dress is divine, you MUST have it - I cut lots of corners for my wedding and it still looked flash, you can do anything you want if you put your mind to it - and you MUST have a dress you look divine in!
I loved mine and I'll never forget everyone's faces as I dashed down the aisle in it!

Color me stupid, but what do you mean? Yes, I'm positive I'm from the US of A...but what do you mean by "Blighty"???
I love reading the posts on here because I get to read how people speak in other countries. The dialects are so different. But sometimes, like now, I don't understand something because I've never heard it before. Please fill me in so I don't feel like an oddball.

Thanks so much Nikki. I was told about you as soon as I originally posted about my choice of gowns and I loved your gown!!! I thought I was the only one who would dare to do it... but I'm SO glad I'm not. And I can tell you'd never have if different. Thank you for helping me to get closer to a concrete decision. I'll be sure to send you a pic once I get it if I keep my nerve.

That is the most amazing dress!! I'd have worn it if I'd had the nerve! (and the money...LOL)
BTW - 'Blighty' is slang for Britain. You'll pick up a lot of things on Groovy as we don't all exactly speak the Queens English! Don't be scared to ask either, if we confuse you...LOL...we confuse ourselves
