Default just a little update!

Hi everyone,

I have been madly busy at work and so have been off Groovy for a couple of weeks. Just trawled my way through all the wedding chit chat I've missed!! Now we have the miracles of broadband at home I might be able to keep up a bit better...!

Everything is fine with me wedding-wise. Met with my potential caterer last week to discuss ideas. She's really fab - totally enthusiastic about the food I want! Unfortunately, the food I want seems to be quite expensive. I couldn't decide which of the many buffet options she put forward I wanted, so I kind of asked for most of them and that has made it all about £1500 more than my budget! Ahem. So I am heading back to the drawing board and trimming it down to something a bit more realistic but still scrummy.

Haven't really done much else - need to get my head round some of the other big things that you're supposed to book a year in advance...haven't acted on any photographer recommendations yet, but have kept them all and will do soon!!

Right, better go back to catching up on all the other gossip I've missed...

L

Hi Liz

I'm glad that things are going well with you wedding-wise.

I have to confess; everything we estimated things to cost us are way off the drawing board (and I thought I were being generous!)

An extra grand and a half though definitely needs some trimming down.. We've all gone OTT though in certain area's I reckon!

Good luck though, & I hope you get exactly what you want at the price you want. Why not tell the lady how much you have budgeted to spend, and see what her idea's are. She might be able to put together a fabby package for you!

Let us know how you get on!

Big hugs, Karen xx

You'll soon work out how to trim it down Liz, I promise - our wedding started off with a weeny budget, went big budget with plans but not reality and finally ended up about half of what the mags say the average wedding costs! And it was scrummy all the same (I hope - it looke dit, I never got round to eating it!)

It's all so much fun though - I wish I was planning it all again!

Nice to see you back Liz and that everythings going well for you.

As Nikki said, im sure youll overspend in some areas and not as much in others and in the end itll cost somewhere in the middle region!

Good luck with cutting down on the scrummy food!

Good to see you Liz (and your cute little chick!) We have more or less kept to our budget only going £900 over, but the whole thing is only costing (only!) £4500. If you need any help cutting a few disceet corners let me know I am the Master!!! Love Mazz

A lot of us kept to a budget for our weddings (We refused point blank to go into huge debt for it) - so you only have to ask

Nice to see you back. We're on a budget too. We've cut back on a lot of things and splashed out on others. For example we aren't having a car and my mums friend is making our cake.

Just ask if you want any tips or anything.
