Trying on wedding dresses
I'm trying on wedding dresses on Saturday 15th May ...
Whats the best kind of underwear to wear, and also am I allowed to wear make-up?
I dont mind going bare-face, but wouldn't mind a smudge of make-up if its allowed.....

Karen I think that if they didnt want you to wear make up they would have stipulated this on making your appt. All the dresses in the shop are samples and expected to get grubby eventually....I wouldnt worry..Just Enjoy!!!!!

Wear big knickers!! I completely forgot and was wearing a shameless thong when I first went trying on dresses - it was not pleasant!! I felt hugely embarassed and had to apologise to the poor shop assistant who had to look at my hideous behind, jumping in and out of dresses

Also shave under your arms because you will probably be having the dresses lifted over your head by assistant (Not that I am suggesting that you ever do not shave Karen LOL!)

I went with normal make-up on and it was fine. Also made the mistake Liz did and went along in a teeny thong! By the end id stood talking to her pretty much naked to so the embaresment soon goes

Actually, not even big pants - an all in one (strapless) is best, holds it in, hides any dimples (You may not have any but I am lumpy) and looks respectable.....
ENJOY

Have fun. I wore normal knickers which was fine and some make up too. Also a good idea is a strapless or multiway bra so you can change it for the different types of dresses.

As long as your underwear is clean and fairly new - I didn't realise how "off white" my bra was until I saw it compared to the very white dresses- needless to say I bought new underwear for the next trip!!

Love the pantaloons darling sweetie!
When I have been dress shopping I have worn big pants and no bra...(told myself the assistants had seen it ALL before) and then the last time I went I wore one of those all in one things...I actually wish I hadn't of bothered as it made my boobs look really droopy!
Go in your thong girl! If you've got it flaunt it!
Also I wore light make up and did my hair, as I wanted to get more of an idea of the 'dressed upness' of it all
Only one week to go for you! Are you going to sneak a camera in?

I've always gone dress shopping on the spur of the moment which means I'm wearing a thong which was once white (Daz makes me itch all over!). I've put weight on recently which seems to have gone on my boobs (yay!) amongst other places (boo!) so I don't have a strapless bra that fits anyway. In the end I just decided they'd seen it all before and it was going to be baps out.
So I've ended up standing around being barely dressed for ages. In some places this is fine, in others it was a bit exposed - they never shut the curtains properly. One place gave me a freshly laundered basquey thing to wear which was all very modest. The worse thing is when they take the dress off and that lovely figure you get from the boning goes all flabby again!
Have fun!

We took a camera just incase we were allowed to take some snaps but totally forgot about it in the excitement untill the lady helping us said it was a shame we didnt have a camera!
Took a few piccies and theyre a lovely keepsake.
I know that some places are funny about it though so it might be worth seeing what theyre like first.

Underwear wise I wore similar to what I was planning to wear on the day, but took 2 additional bra's (balcony and a multiway - plus I was wearing an everyday bra anyway) - this was great as it gave me a good idea of what to buy eventually
I just wore my normal make-up, but with regards to a camera, most shops will only let you take a pic once you've paid a deposit (some brides try dresses on, take pics and then get someone to make one at a fraction of the cost!! Naughty girls!)
Good luck, you must be so excited
