Just thinking after posting yesterday - I did not even bother to introduce myself properly.

Anyway I am Joanne, also known as Dr. G-nome (because I am small and my hubby to be thinks I am gnomelike
, and I work on DNA and genomes). I am 31 and live in Maastricht in The Netherlands (although I am a Brit - born in London). My hubby to be is Jérôme, he is a 33 year old Dutchman. We've been together about 4 and a half years now and met whilst doing our PhDs.
Jérôme proposed to me on December 25th 2003, during Christmas breakfast, and set a wedding date for June 2004. However circumstances (local council in The Netherlands creating trouble because I am not Dutch!) mean our wedding will be 10th July 2004 (only a few weeks off what we planned).
We will be getting married in a little Castle near Maastricht, the reception will also be there too and there will be about 50 guests present.
We do not plan to go on honey moon - I am quite upset about that but it is a bit difficult as we are paying for the wedding ourselves, buying our first house (which we move into on 1st July) and I will be nearly 6 months pregnant in July.
We got a bit carried away celebrating our impending mariage and now we are expecting our first littl'un
on 19th October 2004 (on my OHs birthday !). We were trying (allbeit halfheartedly) anyway, so we are dead chuffed and rather shocked how easy it was (especially given how busy we have been arranging things and with work !)
I hope to post here a bit and get to know some of you, since I now have a bit more free time (I am working when I want at the moment)
