I had a ring cleaned in one of them sonic things and lost a stone from it. It was a ceylon blue sapphire I lost and when it was replaced I could always see which one It was as it was a very slightly different shade. No one else could see but I could because I knew it was there. Until reading this I'd never even connected it with the sonic boom thing.
Glad you can get yours replaced Karen.
