Hello,
Just wondering if anyone bothered to have a fake tan for their wedding day. And are there any tan disaster stories on your day? I am trying to decide whether to do it.
I didn't do a fake tan but as we got wed in Aug and the summer was SO hot I was brown from that.
I think I would do fake tan in Oct......depends on personal choice I guess, are you thinking of doing it?
For my wedding in April I am having a professional St Tropez... I will have a practise one a month before hand though, just to check I am happy with it.
You shouldn't have any disasters if you get it done professionally by someone you have used before
Good luck!

I have had 3 professional St. Tropez from 3 diferent salons (at a cost of £30 each time) all resulting in orange knuckles and white bits. I have had 2 mystic tans which lasted about one day and was a bit scary. Also have tried doing St.Tropez at home with kit (£30) which was better but at the moment I am using Loreal Sublime gel which is the cheapest and best results so far.
I just dont know whether I wan to look sooo brown in my piccis, and I am not wearing a bustier type dress. I am worried about my dress looking grubby tho'.
Oh no, thats awful that you have had 3 St Tropez disasters. Usually its very good.
L'Oreal Sublime is excellent! I have that!!!!
Not wanting to recommend, but you could have a few tanning booth sessions just to give you some colour - you're right, you dont want to look brown. You just dont want to look white either. Mind, the english rose look is very pretty too!

I've been deliberating on the same thing. I'm a natural English rose (!) with flushed cheeks and blotchy patches when I'm stressed or excited or anything other than normal. I think I've decided now that I'll go with the English rose look - after all, that's me. H2B met me as an English rose, loves me as an English rose, so should marry me as one!

Sunbed? I got married in december and booked 10 sunbed sessions beforehand, wasn't as brown as my SIL who was my CBM, she went St Tropez, but didn't have to worry about streaks either!

I've been debating this as well. I tan quite easily and wondered if I get a tan over the summer, whether I will still be a bit brown by October. Probably not.
A friend of mine had a St Tropez and it rubbed off all over her dress. When she took the dress off, the inside was all covered in fake tan.
I know its a really bad idea but I was thinking of having a few sunbed sessions for a bit of colour.
I've heard that fake bake is good for fake tan but not sure if it would come off on the dress. This is their website:
I confess I had a few sunbed sessions, but merely to take the white glare off my skin! I think it is nice to have some colour, but also you don't want to look ridiculously tanned in the middle of a chilly spell or you will stand out for all the wrong reasons!
Good luck with deciding Mazz!

I think I will have few sunbed sessions as well. We are getting married in August - so I hope I have a bit of natural colour anyway. I'm very pale anyway - so I just want something to take the white glare away as well.
I highly recommend Clarins. I had it done a day and a half before our wedding and it left me a really lovely colour!
Having said that - I did have a pre-wedding clarins tanning treatment done 10 days before the wedding to make sure that I like what they did - to ensure that I got the lady I wanted to do the treatment and to make sure it agreed with my skin.
Good luck

Ta, everyone but after doing my first fakey of this year on Friday i have decided that because I am fair, i just look too brown...and I have got sleeves on my dress so probably will not bother!
Well I am white as a ghost and I had the St trops done and looked just right, not too brown (it works with the meliloma stuff in your skin so you can't go too brown)- one 2 days before the wedding and one the day before. It worked out great! It really does depend on who applies it though. If it does not work out well in the trials, go to a different place. It did get on the inside of my dress but from past experience of it getting on clothes, it definately comes out in the wash (I haven't actually got around to getting my wedding dress cleaned yet as it is back in the mother land - yeah, a dirty mare!).
If you are really fair, avoid sunbeds - really not worth it!
