Default Bride Speeches

Are any of you or did you make a speech at your wedding?

I think I'd quite like to say something although I'm not too sure what yet. Paul is quite nervous about doing a speech although he said he wants to do one. I thought I could do all the thank you's and hand out the presents but would also like to say something special.

Will have to sit down and have a think about it.

Do you think it is OK for the bride to do a speech as well. It will only be short and sweet I should think.

I'd be grateful if any of you can give me some ideas of what to include. I should be used to this as I'm always standing up and giving presentations at work. I guess a wedding speech is a bit different though.

Teresa, I think it is a really nice idea. I think it is fine, though not really sure what would be best for you to say.

I think maybe a few comments to your new husband, as everyone will like that, and also thank everyone for sharing your day with your both.

I might be saying a few words, but I am not planning it especially, just incase it makes me even more nervous. I am really going to play it by ear.

Its definitely a lovely idea though!

I am sure I have replied to this sort of question before, but I can't find it!

I made a speech - basically I said those of you who know me would be more surprised if I didn't make one! I read out a poem about my mum that Bianca had written (reducing some guests to tears), made a toast to mum, then started giving out gifts to my soloist and BMs - changing the whole tone of it with the presents being things like Snoopy and Harry Potter socks!

If you want to do one, then do it - it doesn't have to be elaborate
