Wedding Magazines
Why is it that you can get a woman's magazine for between £1.50 and £2.50 but the minute the word "wedding" is added, you can't get a magazine for under £3.50??

I'm spending a fortune on them too. Every month I think right that's it, I won't buy any more than 1 (or 2) and then end up getting the whole lot. I could probably buy my wedding dress with the amount I've spent on them. My sister said my lounge was like being in the doctors waiting room there are so many magazines there!!!

Now I've bought my dress they're less good though as the majority is just pictures of dresses. I need features on hair, tiaras, shoes etc and they're not there, or not in the same quantity!
(I did find a hairstyle I like at www.weddinghair.com though, looking quite hopeful! (and I got that from a post on confetti - just to prove I do still go there!))

Hiya!
I've taken to just reading them in the shop because I can convince myself that there's nothing amazing in them, put them down and spend my money on apples (I was going to say choc muffins)
It works!

Hey - do you think we should notify each other when the new edition of each mag is out? I think I'm going to go mad & the shop are going to suspect I'm shoplifting if I walk out of a shop without buying anything again!
I used to be quite literate & bought all sorts of magazines, but now I'm a bridal mag obsessive.
Aren't some of them really pants though? All adverts (usually those ENORMOUS Alfred Angelo million page ones - enough already!). I actually found it really hard after I picked my dress - I was a bit gutted that there was no point looking at them anymore!!

i have restrained myself so far i have bought one! when i got pregnant i spent an absolute fortune on pregnancy mags, parenting mags, babay mags the lot! so i vowed to control myself a lot more where my wedding is concerned! I just go online to all sorts of companies and get brochures sent to me left right and centre it seems to compensate for the mags! (for now anyway)

my H2b buys all these magazines about Speakers and DVD's some of the speakers cost £2000 incredible!
I have got a couple of subscription because i don't always get to go to town and don't want to miss out - as you say i guess that once i have chosen my dress it will be different but until then i shall continue to break my drawers by weighing them down with magazines!!

Ben used to get shed loads of pc mags, private eye and something else. He's weened himself down to two pc mags and bought me National Geographic for a year (which is Ace!!)
but the house is covered still in wedding mags cos I don't want to throw them away.
in fact (hang on)

Mella - Don't worry, with wedding magazines you know you'll be able to throw them away easily after the wedding, it's all the other magazines that start to pile up and never get thrown away! And besides, wedding mags make good foot rests
Personally, I just can't justify the expense, I could buy books for that price, and I can see all the pictures I need online. My fingers still itch to buy them though!
