We met on yahoo chat 5 years ago. However it will be our 5 year "anniversary" of meeting each other in real life so to speak on the 11th of this month.

Yep! I answered a message his geography teacher left on a penpal newsgroup over 6 years ago! It said he had students looking for penpals...well, turns out he had one, and he wasn't looking, didn't even know about it until his teacher sent him my email!

I met my h2b on the internet 2 years ago.....he was too scared to come all the way to Southampton to meet me.....so I got the coach up to Newcastle.....the most scary journey of my entire life......(and I've bacpacked round Oz!).....ho hum......
It was well and truely worth it tho!  |

I met Martin on Odigo instant messenger in July last year!! He came all the way from Doncaster to see me in my hometown. He sent me a message saying hello and from that first message I knew he was the one for me!! He gave me his number after an hour or so chatting online and we met two weeks later!

Fran, I met Daniel on Odigo too. I used to use ICQ all the time, but thought i would give Odigo a go one day. I wasnt too impressed and was just about to log off when he msgd me. It was the first and only time he had used it as well, and he was about to give up and log off too, when my name appeared. He sent me a msg, we talked for an hour or so then moved back to ICQ. We talked online for about 2 weeks then I called him at new year (at 12 oclock) as we both wanted to stay in and chat to eachother rather than go out........that was the start of the HUGE phone bills lol

Personally I hate odigo as a messenger, but I love it because it brought Martin and me together! Tell me about the phone bills... I still got them!!!
But he is worth them everytime they thunder down on my door mat!

YES!! I met mine on AOL's 30 something chat room almost 3 years ago. Our 1st date lasted 12 hours and we didn't want to part. We seen each other a week later and erm...well I moved in and the rest is history! So for all those doubting thomas's...there is really such a thing as love at 1st sight!!!

I met Steve online about 3 years ago - I was bored and did an AOL search to see who was online in my local area (bizarre, because it's not the sort of thing I would ordinarily do). I sent him a message saying hello, and we becanme firm friends online.
It was several months before I actually 'met him' in person (even though I could see his house from where I lived!), and we only actually 'got together' 16 months ago.

Me too! My H2B had an ad on AOL personals - I was trying to find a woman for my brother in March 2000 (still haven't!) and thought I would place an ad on his behalf (he almost killed me!) I was browsing through the male seeks female ads to get a feel for what I should write when I came across my H2B's ad - I just HAD to answer it! He mailed me back, we e-mailed for a couple of weeks then messaged each other, he asked me out to dinner and I met him at a motorway service station (he had a pic of me, but I didn't have one of him) I'll never forget seeing him standing all 6ft 2 tall with his gorgeous build and amazing eyes, his hands shielding them from my headlights (I wanted to see him before he saw me in case I decided to do a runner!) No need, I swooned and we went to dinner, we talked ALL night then saw each other every night for a week when he had to go to sea  (he's in the Navy) He told me he loved me when he phoned me 2 days later - I moved in on December 1 2000 and we got engaged on 10th March 2001........the rest, as they say, is history!
