That's great!

Are you having a church or civil 'do'? Either way, you need to get confirmation of your wedding from them and send it off with your passport stuff.

I'm doing mine as soon as I remember and once I know for sure I won't need it between now and July! Allow at least a month for processing to be on the safe side.

Some countries allow you to book tickets in your married name and take your marriage cert with your maiden name passport, particularly in Europe but there are a few fussy ones.

How's your planning going Sarah?

Once I'm married I'm dropping my maiden name straight away in sheer joy so want to travel under my new name too. Call me sentimental and soppy if you must!

laurie,

I am sentimental and old fashioned too!! I really like my own name, but I just wouldn't feel right if i didn't take his!

All my friends just find the idea of me becoming a Mrs Melia hysterical....especally as I get called Hinton (my two best friends are Sarah's too, so surnames suffice). i guess that means I get to keep my old name in a way too!!

Planning going well, think we are pretty much sorted, except for grooms suit. Off to buy undies tonight.......:gasm:

Glad I'm not the only one - I started life as a Bennett then became Mckell then became Bennett again and will soon be Conway - hopefully that'll be the last as it's a load of hassle changing names on EVERYTHING!

I got my undies off a website - let me know if you have any problems as I know some good ones.

Bob can sort his own stuff out - he's a fussy bugger!!

laurie,
How do you find the strength to organise a wedding twice in your life!!?? (Of course I guess the getting married to Bob bit makes it worth it!)
Phil and I have already considered just running off and doing it somewhere hot the organising is such a nightmare!!

I just lurve organising things so I'm in my element really. It's been much easier this time as Bob and I are paying for everything so we haven't had our families interfering much.

As long as you do it while you still have more than 3 months to go before the big day, it will be fine. I have sent mine off already and they reckon I should have it within the month!!

Right Fran,
If you're the same day as me and you've done it, looks like I had better get onto it this weekend.

Thanks!
