Default 5th/10th Anniversary Idea

Hi,

I was wondering if I can run an idea past you - I'm thinking of suggestion this to my hubbie but I wanted to know if it's a silly idea or not beforehand.

I got married last September but in August this year Rich (my hubbie) lost his wedding ring while snorkeling in Crete. We weren't able to claim it back from our insurance because it was lost and not stolen and even though we can simply go and buy a replacement, we feel that it won't be the same because it's not the ring which was blessed when we said our vows.

So I thought that maybe we could renew our vows on our fifth wedding anniversary (our 10th anniversary of being together) in the Maldives or St Lucia, which would be combined with a fab two week all-inclusive holiday but when I mentioned it to one of my friends, she thought it was a ridiculous idea.

What do you guys think?

Beeny

Sounds like a fab idea!

It will obviously mean a lot to you to renew your vows on a significant anniversary (and get his new ring blessed) plus you get to have a second honeymoon!

Cant understand why your friend thinks thats ridiculous???

We had Js replacement ring blessed after a normal sunday church service - we hijacked the minister, reminded him of our names, and he blessed it there and then...

That sounds like a lovely idea. I can highly recommend the Maldives as we went there on our honey moon in Ocotber this year.

The only thing is Paul lost his wedding ring while we were diving so be careful!!! We were able to claim on the travel insurance and have got a replacement. We had it blessed by the vicar a couple of weeks ago when we went to the service on Sunday. I was not impressed with Paul as he'd only had it a week!!!
