When do I send out my Invites?
My wedding invitations should be ready and with me in a few weeks 
When should I be posting them out?
Bearing in mind that I have put an RSVP date of 12th March on them (to allow time to chase up anyone and also sorted out table plan and have all the relevant place names and table plan made for me)

Tradition says 6-8 weeks before the wedding but that's just plain ridiculous! I'd say beginning to middle of Feb if it was me.

We are going to do it three months before the wedding - purely because August is a popular month for holidays and we dont want people having an excuse not to come. We didn't bother getting save the date cards.
Six to eight weeks before is probably okay though.

WE sent out ours about 6 wks before the date. People invited knew about it long before the invites went out so "saved" themselves and kept diaries free on that date. I think sometimes it is a good idea to send out "safe the date" cards if you are marring at time when people could be considering going on holidays.

I'd give people 3-4 weeks to reply before the deadline...so that's about second or third week of Feb.

well i'd say anytime in jan probably the last 2 weeks or so. Don't be like me and decide to make them and then run out of ink and paper and the last few ended up being sent last week hehehehe

I'd send them out end of Jan/beginning of Feb so that people have got plenty of time to reply and then it gives you time to chase them up if you need to.
We sent ours out about 3 months before the wedding as our venue needed final numbers 3 weeks before so we had time to chase up a few stragglers in time.

Good point about depending when you have to give final numbers to the venue.
Also, chances are great that you will have to chase up on people - that really fecked me off I have to say. So rude of some people not letting you know on time.

I've found even getting everyone's address has been an absolute nightmare. I am hoping people have the decency to respond to the invites and we dont have to chase them up for weeks - hence another reason I want to send them out three months before! |

I think I should be receiving them around middle of January. So I guess once I get all the information sheets together etc, I'll send them out end of January.
Yipppeee! Its exciting.
It is rude of people to not respond on time - grrrrr - anyone who does that to me will be getting pooh in their food! (well not really, but it sounded good!)

As you know already, i am getting married on the same day as you!
We have decided to send out our invites at the end of January. We have not sent out 'save the date' cards so want to be sure people get them in plenty of time. We will be asking people to RSVP by the end of March.

The wedding is now Four months today! Yippppeeeeeee!!!!
Thanks for that Kayannatink. I sent out Save the Date cards a year ago come April (I think) .. but have decided will defo send out the Invites around end Jan/ Beginning of February.
