Default Rose instead of Rings.....???

I need some advice. I'm considering ditching swapping rings at our wedding, and giving my partner a rose instead... The theme of the wedding is roses, so it'll tie in really nicely, but do you think I'll regret not exchanging rings.......?
I thought about reading this poem when I give my partner the rose.....

"The red rose whispers of passion,
And the white rose breathes of love;
O the red rose is a falcon,
And the white rose is a dove.

But I send you a cream-white rosebud
With a flush on its petal tips;
For the love that is purest and sweetest
Has a kiss of desire on the lips. "

What do you think guys?

Hope you all had a great Xmas, and lovely new year!

I know someone who did this but they also swapped rings as well. They did the rings first and then had the swapping of roses as a seal on the ceremony. I love the idea of swapping roses but would definitely want a ring as well.

I think it's a lovely idea, but like Ang i'd also want a ring as well. Maybe you could present the ring on the rose, in the centre or something?

The ring will last forever - the roses are transitory.

Do both!

I love the idea! But also the rings do have more longevity so maybe they'd be good as well?

Its a lovely idea but I'd go for the rings as well. They are forever. Well unless you are my husband who lost his on our honeymoon while we were diving!!!
