what's everyone doing once you are wedded ?
We are applying to emmigrate australia, in August when we are back from honeymoon and to carry on saving as we want to keep our house and rent it out as a investment.
Anyone else thinking of emmigrating or what are your plans ??

 McFluffy
When we get back from honeymoon we have a week back here in Hertfordshire, then we(I) move out to Northern Ireland. My h2b is halfway through a 2 year tour of Northern Ireland, so we'll be there until May when we go to Aldershot. I am hoping to get work in camp, so we'll have to see what happens!!!
What part of Australia are you going to?
Fran

Well Mark will be emmigrating to the UK, so we will have a lengthy spell of abject poverty - he can't work until he is granted leave to stay after the wedding and that can take up to a year. We'll be living with my parents in a tiny little flat, but it will be ok - we'll have the great big dogs and my cat to keep us all sane!

We are paying for the wedding ourselves, so I think it will be a case of being skint for the foreseeable future for us!

The day after H2B and I get married, we are moving to Putney, then in May next year H2B moves to Germany without me, but I don't get to move there in 2004!
Oh, and Fran,
When you move to Aldershot we will have to meet up!! My mother lives just down the road in Eversley!
I was telling H2B about you moving to NI, and he asked if your H2B was in Ballykelly?

McFluffy - I'M emigrating to Oz too!!
My H2B is Aussie, so he's in charge of sorting out the house. We'll be renting somewhere, because right now we can't afford to buy, and David also didn't want to make a choice on buying a house without me there to be part of it (he's so lovely!).
We'll be in Moree, NSW. I've done all my medicals, police checks, statutory declarations etc for my Spouse Visa, but we won't get it until the Immigration people get our marriage certificate - hopefully it will all be ok, and they can sort it out quickly while we are on honeymoon! It's flipping expensive for visas! It's been about £600 so far, with no guarantee I'll be accepted. Help!!
Anyway, I may as well post a pic of the house we are interested in renting. David is going to see if we can get it tomorrow - I feel sick! Please keep everything crossed & start praying, please!

Once we're married I'm about to take on the role of an army wife, so that will be so odd.... need to try and find a job for when I get there so that should be fun!!
Grown up in Cardiff so it will be odd moving away, but I can't wait!

I know what you mean Heather, it is so exciting but on the other hand is so flippin scary! I couldn't imagine being in some of your positions, like emigrating and all that! That to me is terrifying! I have grown up in Hertfordshire, in all my 25 years of life I have only spent a WEEK away from my mum and dad, and then odd nights here and there and weekends away from them. So to spend from August until next May in another part of the UK (in other words we have sea between us!) is scary for me. But come next May I'll be back on home soil

Honeymoon in vancouver then back to the old routine. Finish my PhD in another 18months - 2 years and then get a job (PLEASE let my dream job be in Canada and PLEASE let me get it!) - luckily Col has agreed to go wherever I get a job after my PhD ... it'll be the first time he's move out of his home town (unless my Uni offer me a job - but I think I'm ready to move on again....10 years here now and getting itchy feet!).

We already live together too - my H2B will be leaving the Navy (yippee!!!!) so once we're back from honeymoon he may not have a job and we are also paying for the whole thing ourselves so we'll be completely skint trying to pay it off.........he has his pilot's licence though and hopes to get a job to fund him through his career and hopefully he'll end up as an airline pilot (not sure about those air hostesses though No offence to any air hostesses on here!!!)
Me? I hate my job but will have to keep it just now as it pays really well and we need it until we're on a better financial footing - I will continue to look for another job which pays the same or more though and I am staring an Open University degree in Social Sciences in February 2003 so I'll be kept busy enough.......just can't wait to be a Mrs...........kids will be way, way down the line (although EVERYONE assumes we'll be starting a family soon as I'm almost 29.........NOT!! We want to enjoy each other and spoil each other for a while first!)

I'm with Anna and Collette on this one! Already got the house and both love the area we live in plus family are close by.
Hopefully it won't be long (2 to 3 years-ish to recover from the cost of the wedding and getting the house up-together ) before we start a family as I've been broody for as long as I can remember!!

After the wedding I was meant to be starting a new job, but due to the unexpected pregnancy I'm now going to be a kept-woman and keep myself occupied at home.... hope I don't go out of my mind with boredom.
