Silver Wedding Anniversary Help... - Wedding Forum

its my mum & dads silver wedding anniversary at the end of the month and I dont know what to get them for a present.

they dont like any of the silvery stuff you normally get so does anyone else have any ideas. moneys a bit tight at the moment so I cant really afford anything too extravegant like holidays away etc.

any ideas?

it was my parents silver anniversary last year and me and my2 sisters clubbed together and got a photo portrait done of the 3 of us...they wanted one so we knew they'd love it....and we got it set in a beautiful silver frame. it was quite big. it cost about £300....so that was £100 and it was all we could afford at the time but they loved it...my dad cried bless his heart lol

awww thats a lovely Idea but the problem I have with that is i live 350 miles away from my sister so It could proove difficult & ive only got 2 weeks left to get something

Mmmmmm Claire, I am at a loss!

I normally would have suggested a nice silvery clock thing with perhaps a nice engraving on it somewhere?

I will keep my thinking hat on though and hopefully together we'll come up with something nice.

Maybe you could book them a nice meal out somewhere, and send them the details of where and when in their card?

Anyway, still thinking.....

How about a "Silver wedding" rose? Am sure there are garden centres that would deliver? (Obviously this is assuming they have/like garden!)

Ang - cant really afford to send on a hotel package at the mo esp since ive not had much pay this month
Kas- thanks for the silver rose idea but mum & dad arnt really garden type people so Im not sure about this idea

i have found this frame which i think is lovely even though its silver its just like a modern silver frame what do you think ?

well I spotted it on the net ang and even though she's said no silver crap !!

typical mother ha i think its quite contemporary and I would be happy to have that in my house if it were my 25th anniversary but im just not sure !!! decisions decisions ill keep looking !

I think its nice too..............dont think your mum will have a problem with it in her house
