Default Wedding update

Hello everyone

I haven't been around much lately, so just wanted to drop in and say hi and give you an update on the wedding plans. i was away for a conference with work, and have been busy doing wedding stuff and DIY so have had no time to groove!!

Anyway, the weekend before last was a huge disaster on the wedding front. The underwear I'd ordered for the big day arrived and looked HIDEOUS. Sorry if this is TMI, but let's just say I looked down and wondered where they'd gone... Since then I have discovered I've gone down a blinking cupsize to practically nothing.

Then the proofs arrived for the invites and they looked rubbish. The printing was all smudgy and colours looked crap and the card was flimsy. We realised the file was too low resolution so Stephen had to spend ages working on it.

Then to top it all off, we had the walk throguh with our photographer. She was really bossy and totally upset me. She walked into the church and said "O MY GOD! It is SOOOOO dark in here. Do I have to stand right back there? O my god". Then we get to the reception venue and that was too dark too, and I was having my drinks reception on the wrong bit of lawn. And then she went to my mum's house and committeed the ultimate sin of criticising it (fairly politely but still criticising). I tihnk I was just a bit emotional from the other disappointments, but I felt like all my choices were being rubbished.

Anyway, enough of all that malarkey. I have since cheered up completely. The invites are going to the printers tomorrow and look fab. I have ordered the envelopes too. I returned the bra and knicks and bought the right size - okay so my former cleavage hasn't suddenly reappeared but at least I don't look like a kid playing dress-up. And I bought my shoes from BHS - they are gorgeous and were very good value. Ooh and we started our gift list too at John Lewis.

And I've got a plan to sort out the photographer...

So it's all good. Last week was really stressy but I am getting back to enjoying it now. Howz everyone else? I haven't had a chance to trawl throguh all the thousands of posts I've missed...

Hi Liz,

Glad you're back and you've sorted out all those little problems.

As for the cleavage problem - I think I may be heading that way myself - losing weight and all seems to have its disadvantages.

Hope you sort out the photographer - I think its probably really important that you feel comfortable with the person taking the photos.

Catch up with you soon. x

sounds like you've been having a few minor probs madam but glad yer back on track now!

Let us know how you get on with the photographer - she's lucky you didn't give her a slap after being a bit off about yer Mums house grrrr!!!!! At the end of he day you have made your venue choices based on what will make your perfect wedding day and not because the flipping lighting is good.

Gonna be really fun keep checking that JL list now though
xx

A good photgrapher will work with whatever lighting there is so hope you get her sorted out. Get some chicken fillets for the cleavage if it bothers you not having one. If not don't worry you'll look stunning on the day with or without one.

Thanks girls. My plan to sort the photographer out is to send her an itinerary of the day (which I have to do anyway) but with loads of detailed notes about exactly what I want at each stage (e.g. when getting ready at my mum's I will be enjoying the morning with friends and family rather than performing, so please work discreetly in the background!). Then I'll give her a call to check that she's okay with all the details - if it's all in writing we should be okay. I'm also going to pick someone particularly assertive to be her contact on the day and delegate all decision making to them! When we first met she was really nice, I think it was a combination of me being a bit washed-out emotionally and also not as assertive about my choices as I would normally have been.

Sounds good, Liz. Afer all, you are paying her to give you a service not the other way around. Good luck with it all - I'm sure it will be fine.
