I just remember when I got married previously had a big skirt fairly large train too but it tied up into the waterfall design at back of the dress for the evening dancing. well I had the skirt and two hoops on underneath to fill it out even more and to go to the toilet it took me and my bridesmaid and 2 friends to hold my dress up for me lol
I love some of the mary's dresses your right rools they look very regal and very very traditional wedding deffinetly fairytale princess and fantastic trains.
I love bridesave at the min got some fab ideas of there recently and cant get over how cheap some of them are when you do the conversion from dollars to pounds. Don't suppose anyone know how they work out the import tax do you ? do they do it on per dress or is it per order?
Was just wondering as im trying to work out about the bridesamaids having them made or by them off the peg from bridesave trying to work out prices. If its per order then I would order them all at one go rather than paying as I go sort of thing.

welcome!! I can't say that I'm with you on the dresses...as for me it's "the simpler the better" lol, but to each their own. I'm not saying that big dresses aren't beautiful, because they are. That's just not the type of ceremony we're having...
If I were you I'd go to www.froogle.com and do a search for bridal gowns/wedding dresses and see what pops up. That's what I did and I spent DAYS..heck, WEEKS searching. But finally, I found one!

Hi Georgina and welcome to Groovy

I had a sincerity dress but had a underskirt with hoops underneath so it wasn't huge but quite big. Not really sure where to suggest but you can look at loads on bridesave.

Welcome to Groovy!

My dress is Mori Lee and if you take a look on the website they do some lovely big dresses, also Sincerity and Hollywood Dreams as already mentioned.

Good luck in finding your dream dress! xx

I ordered my wedding dress from Rebeccarode.com and was VERY impressed by the service and the price. I think that the import duty etc is worked out on the whole cost of the order, and then there is a handling fee. I didn't end up paying a huge amount for the import side of things for my dress, and saved a fortune. I also ordered a tiarra from the US and the amount of import I payed on this was higher than I expected. i think this was because the handling charge was the same for both. It might be worth looking at the Customs and excise website for advice or even ringing them to get an estimate on your total order.

I would definately buy from the US again, especially if it was a bigger dress. The shops here charge soooo much for them and the savings are huge. I could have gone to the States had a holiday and brought my dress back and still saved money!
