Default wedding dress advice

Hi Girls,
Muminlaw2b has told me BHS do some lovely simple dresses.
I cannot get to view them on my computer.
Have any of you seen them? What are they like?

Karen

I actually saw them couple weeks ago at the Wolverhampton branch first BHS I have seen that have a huge selection, I am not sure about seeing them on line . The Brides dresses are lovely and very good value for money I felt and the Bridesmaids dresses are gorgeous and they have a good selection of acessories too hair clips and some really really nice shoes .

Somewhere else to look is Debenhams and there online site is good too they have a nice selection very simple but very elegent and classy too.

Welcome to Groovy by the way and Congratulations on your Wedding. How long before the happy day?

Your right the BHS site isnt informative no pics at all unless you want there stationary as been said before probably be a case of going in and getting a booklet and having a look yourself to see if there what you want.

You could try these two links though for Debenhams and Monsoon might not have what your looking for but its always nice to look at whats on offer.

I agree BHS do have some lovely stuff in.
I have not paid that much attention to the actual bride section as already had my dress when I was in there.
They seemed to have altered their w/site recently so no piccies now - which is a bit naff........so would advise you go in the store itself......
They have loads to choose from and they do stationery plus remember seeing tonnes of different colours with shoes and accessories (lots of choice)......and the stuff for the little ones is adorable (just wasn't my colour scheme unforch )
Was well impressed by them though!

My mate got married in a BHS dress a few years ago and looked stunning. It was a simple floaty, figure hugging dress with criss cross at the back (low back)and she kept telling me how much she'd saved by getting it from there.
It was beautiful.

Hope you find the dress of your dreams

It's the champagne colour they had. Do you still need a bigger size?

Thumbs up bhs dresses

Hi Girls,
Just to let you know I had a look in BHS and they DO have some lovely dresses.
I like the strapeless one with the small train. And little beads on it, 12 is a perfect too
I got the Groom,Father of bride (dad) Best man, and my ring bearer (my son) the waistcoats and cravats in Lilac, I just have to find lilca ballet shoes for the bridesmaids (mu 2 year old and her 10 year old cousin) in sizes 7 & 1.
And I even got the ring cushion from there, and garter.
It will be like a BHS wedding!!
I must admit I was surprised by their dresses, the first time I have seen something I like, and only £175.

Now to look for undies.

Thanks for advice.

Default length of dress??????

Hi Girls,
I am wondering what to do about the length of my dress.
In the brochure it is right down on the floor, but the lady who served me said to have it taken up so it fits just on my shoes.
It has a small train too.

I don't want to trip, as I am getting married outside in Paphos, and I have two flights of stairs, one steep, to get to when we start the wedding march so to speak ( I am having cypriot musicians leading me playing violin and lauto) and will have my two year old daughter to help down.

But I still want the dress to look good.

Karen

I had mine altered just on the front hem and left the back of it alone. If you are concerned, have a loop or something added (inside near a seam) so you can loop it over your wrist for the steps etc.
