Board showing Table Seating Plan
Hiya,
These seem to be ridiculously priced...some getting on for 100 quid.
Are you all making your own?
Looks like all you need is a big board, covered with some material (matching colour scheme perhaps) and place table plans on top plus bit of arty decor.....
Any suggestions would be great as I have no clue at this stage what to do for that.

HI,
I had planned to do this, but like with everything I was last minute charlie and chopped it out due to time. I think you have a great start though, I never even thought of matching it to the colours of the wedding, I think it would look ace!

All I did for my table plan was print it out from the PC and attached in to some gold card and then put it in one of those clip frames.
My venue had an easel stand for it to sit on
I think the frame cost about £20

i printed mine out and stuck it on the same card as all my other paper bits were made out of this too was clipped to an easel the venue provided. I dont think it looked to tacky or unfinished. To be honest I don't think people really take in things like that so as long as it does the job...

yeah mine too. I printed it out, stuck it on backing card the same as my RSVP cards and then put it on an easel stand. doubt anybody even looked though to be honest. Although i can imagine they're far more useful for a bigger wedding with more guests. we only had 30 to the breakfast x

Im making mine too. Im getting some pale green mount card from the Art shop near where I work, sticking some fake ivy leaves on it and then sort of scrapbooking it with silver and purple paper. Im printing out the actual names on the PC about 2 days before and just sticking them on.

We got Mikeys bro who's a graphic desiner to replicate the team sheet off the back of a football program & I got a digital colour proof printed out at work.
It had the team badges & me & all my guests on the West Ham side & Mikey & his side on the Liverpool side.
Obviously it was dated the wedding date & in the bottom right corner we had the best men & BMs listed as the officials.
The tables were all named after stadium stands (i.e. the Chicken Run, The Kop, The Shed e.t.c.)
Hmmm must find that jpeg....

I made mine too. I went to Hobbycraft, bought a large picture frame and some card that was in our colour scheme, then mounted the listings of who was on each table (which I printed from the PC) on different coloured card than the background. Then I bought some little material love hearts (also from HC), painted a clear glitter paint on them and stuck them around and in between the table listings. Voila!

I did mine too by printing it out on the PC and then getting it enlarged at a printers. Then I stuck to some nice card and the venue privided a stand for it. I think it cost me about £10.

I made mine too
i bought a sheet of large strong card then cut out silver circles for the tables and placed them on the card with table numbers on as per the layout of the room I then wrote everyones name in lists around the ouitside of the tables under headings in caligraphy and done an ivy pattern in the corners of the card just to add a bit of colour.by putting the tables on the plan it meant people didnt have to go to each table to find the number as they could see exactly where the table was from the plan.
i found it really fun to do. and would deffinatly not pay £100 for one people only look at it once before the meal and thats it !
love

I made mine a few days before the wedding. To be honest i don't think i could have got it made professionally as there were a few last minute changes to the layout of the reception room and guests. I just did mine on a computer and then ,ounted it up onto cardboard. Because we had the reception at goodwood motor circuit, we named the tables after corners on the circuit, and I scanned an old race program for a photo of the circuit with the corners named on it.I stuck this above the table plan, so that people would know the relevance of the names.
The table plan wasn't very big or professional looking, and we just layed it on the table inside the door, so that people could see it and know where to go. It worked fine.

We're naming the tables after Shakespearean couples as the wedding is on Shakespeares birthday. The interesting ones though, not Romeo & Juliet. I'm having fun thinking who to put on the Lord & Lady Macbeth table!

I am having Romeo & Juliet as one of my table names
I darent make my own as not very craft. Luckily the actual table plan is only costing £35 and then £2.00 per table name card, so doesnt work out too expensive.
My table names are all famous romantic couples. Also getting wed on Shakespears birthday.

Romeo & Juliet are lovely but as we're a bit older we picked couples that had 'breen around a bit'
What other couples are you having?

Aaaaah who are you having.
I'm having ...
Cinderella & Prince Charming
Romeo & Juliet
Adam & Eve
King Authur & Guinevere
Robin Hood & Maid Marion
Anthony & Cleopatra
I guess its a bit of a mixture really, some fairytale like and some historical famous couples.

We're having..
Beatrice & Benedict
Katherina & Petruchio
Titania & Oberon
Anthony & Cleopatra
Rosalind & Orlando
Othello & Desdemona
Lord & Lady Macbeth
Henry VIII & Anne Boleyn
With quotes from the relevant plays on the back of the table card (might as well put this library work to good use!)

Aaaah well, we are both having Anthony and Cleopatra!
Great choices there...
And a great idea of putting quotes on the reverse of them ....

I really like your choices, especially Arthur & Guinevere! Its so much nicer having names than numbers.

I agree!
It was hard to decide on what to name our tables after!
Me and Jonathan are massive animal lovers, and considered incorporating that somehow.. but finally decided that romantic/ historical couples just had that 'feel' to it.
