Default Terrified!!!!!!!!

Hey guys

AM having a bit of a panic about my honeymoon! Am terrified of flying and have a 9 hour flight with one stop on the way (but we just stay on the plane) - am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo afraid!

Then we are staying in a log cabin in the mountains and its on a resort but i dont know how isolated itll be and you arent (according to one report on trip advisor) really supposed to go out after 10pm / sunset because of the wildlife that is kicking about (bears etc).......I love animals but am sooo afraid that I will spend the entire 3 weeks being terrified

Im sorry to bring this on now - I know most people would be excitred but god i am completely shaking with being so scared - i absolutely thought i could deal with it but i dont know.....

anyone got any ideas???

With regards to flying, I am a terrible flyer. Always on edge and generally scared out of my wits. I dont know how I managed to get to Australia!

I found Bach's Rescue Remedy helps to calm me down before flights, and during any rough air. It costs around £6 from Boots, its in yellow packaging - and I totally recommend it.

I am sure you wont be totally isolated at your resort, and they only have the 10pm curfew as a precaution. Why not email the resort and ask abit about it, and I am sure they'll come back with an email to help ease your mind somewhat.

You will really have an amazing honeymoon and the flight wont be 'as bad' as you'd think.

Take care, xxx

Thanks Karen - I am figuring that if it were the case that each week tourists were eaten by bears teh resort probbaly wouldnt keep going and also probably wouldnt get such great reviews on trip advisor!!!

Im not going to email I dont think - I have had a few probs with anxiety in the past and I just need to do these types of things to prove to myself that I can - you knnow?

Anyways we thought we had booked something with a kitchen etc and we havent but thats not biggie - there is a hotel on site and about 40 bungalow/cottages - just one log cabin like ours though - anyways Im sure itll be fine ....

I do love animals just not wild beasts right in my face!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (do you think cos im vegetarian theyd go easy on me?!)

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

p.s i know im makiing light of it but i genuinely am scared - may take rescue stuff - i have no idea what it is though - please explain?? XXX

The remedy is basically for helping with anxiety etc, and all you do is put some droplets onto your tongue - tastes abit like Brandy. For me, definitely helps somewhat. I know your scared of flying, and honestly I can relate. ((hugs))

I completely understand why you dont want to email the resort. All will be okay in the end. Has your H2B helped to reassure you too? Hope so! Plenty of reassurance always helps me.

I'm a terrible worryer. I dont really show it much, but inside I am.

xx

I hate flying too. When we went to Goa in March I wasnt looking forward to the 12 hour flight. I tried not to think about it and got on the plane and figured that once it set off I couldnt get off! Possibly the worst bit of a long flight is boredom. Take books and try to sleep so that the time passes quickly. Knowing that you are going on your honeymoon should ease your worries slightly. Oh, and dont forget to breathe when you take off.....I forget to!

Im sure that so far as the log cabins go that tour operators will give you lots of info about what to do, when to go out etc. So please dont worry. Just enjoy yourself.

erm - dont have a tour operator - booked it ourself - oops! Will be fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Diane - I know exactly what you mean - once im sat on the train i figure im not going to embarass myself by screaming and throwing myself at the doors am i?!

Sure log cabins willl be okay - am amazed that I booked all this!!

Yep H2b being very reassuring but as he is ridiculously laid back about life in general i dont think he really "gets it"

I also have that idea about flinging myself at the doors and screaming at the top of my voice "I wanna geroff" but I overcome this urge by concentrating on breathing and the fact that if I did scream, I would embarrass myself far too much!

Im sure you'll have so many memories about your big day and still be on a high that it will be a doddle.

I think the drinks bar helps too..hic!

Hi there

I really sympathise with you on the flying front. I hate flying and I mean hate. I, like you, have an eight hour journey for the honeymoon which I am not looking forward to. Last time we flew, I worked myself up into such a state the night before I was sick.

I think Karen's idea of rescue remedy is a good one. I now get tranquillisers from the doctors for the flight and they just keep me relaxed enough not to worry about it too much.

Good luck with it. You are not alone, so many people I talk to feel the same.

you will be fine i feel tht way about our flight to as we have a ten hour flight and i am closterphobic great ay but i think well if i cant try and handle it then i wont get anywhere and life will be boring okay fair enough i will be a mess on the day of flying which is next monday but i will deal with it then the flight people are really helpful as i have only flown four hours max before and went into a state then but they were so nice to me and clamed me.
as for the bears chuck ect dont worry im sure there wonuld n0ot be a holiday resort such as this if everyone got ate during there stay, it actually sounds very beautiful and romantic floow the rules but enjoy your time and hey it beats staying here and going back to work ay.
Every hwre yu go there are things to fear even on your own door step so dont worry about this its just different and sometimes change is scarey till you get there you enjoy and have great time with husband xxxxxxxxxxxxx
