Default do they try to piss us off on purpose?!?

Just spoke to our venue, which is a memebers only club, but hire out the function room. when we went there in april 04 we were told that if we became memebres then the hall fee would be reduced by half. just phoen to find out how much we owna nd now they say its the full fee, when i said we're memebres she said you have to be amemebr for a year before its reduced (which we are!) she said no a year prior to booking, i said that was NOT what we were told by the manager and the chef who, arranged for us to be memebrs to get the cheaper price inthe first place!!! they also said we we first saw it that they were setting up a scheme where if you spend over £1500 in the pbar they start to reduce the hire fee proportionalty (sp?) when H2B rang them month or so ago they siad they dont do it now whic really pissed us off but have nothing in writting so what can ya do!! but not this has happend i'm fuming out of principle they told us servals times, but the stuck up idiot starts getting stroppy wiht me saying the invoice states £400 - i know it not much but is sooooo annoying that they mess us arrounf twice now and 4 weeks before wedding!!!

on a happier note i went to dressmaker last night for afitting she was oo lovely, and has years of experince and will be taking it in up and fixing a bussle (sp?!) for me and crushing off the beads under the armpit area (rubs pits not nice look!) all for grand total of £20 fraction of what the shop will charge me. She's also doing one of the BM's dresses and taking that in the sides for £5!!! she does all the alterations for monsoon so knwos the dresses

and breath ................

Forget about the venue being stroppy, focus on your wedding - you're marrying the man you and you will look fabulous!

Grrrr, stoopid people. But having such a lovely dressmaker proves that not everyone in the wedding business is out to scam you out of money - which is what it feels like sometimes!!! (Says the girl who ended up buying the most expensive sponge cake in the wrold ever - seduced by the pretty pictures... )

What a nightmare with the venue. I hope you get it sorted out soon. Try not to worry about it too much.

There's nothing worse when your venue mess you around. I can relate, its very upsetting. Especially now that your wedding is so close. I really hope you managed to get things sorted out one way or another.

Good news regarding the dressmaker! xx
