Default Scottish service minister or registrar?

Ok need some advice please from anyone who has experience of getting married in Scotland.
Because we are having a civil ceremony we automatically assumed it would be done by a registrar that and fact im divorced too.
When we saw the marriage co-ordinator last week at Comlongon Castle she mentioned about having a Minister and also said it wold work out much cheaper than having a registrar. Our main concern for having a minister is the religious content of the ceremony as Andy isn't religous another reason why I automatically assumed of having a registrar although I am a christian .
I know a having a minsiter in scotland is very diferent than having a church service in england but can anyone advice us on roughly how much religious content is involved?
Andy says he quiet likes the idea of having a Minister if its based more on the sanctity of marriage and the joinin of the two of us said it might be more personal than having a resgistrar.

Any advice gratefully received please.

I had the option of retired Minister or Registrar but neither Al or I are remotely religious so preferred to have the Registrar. I assumed the service with the Minister would be almost the same as if conducted in a church.

A civil ceremony is still very special and can be quite personal, with readings and your own vows. Maybe it's worth speaking to both and getting a bit of a better idea.

I hope that my child, looking back on today
Will remember a mother who had time to play;
Because children grow up while you're not looking,
There are years ahead for cleaning and cooking.
So, quiet now cobwebs go to sleep.
I'm nursing my baby, and babies don't keep.

We had a minister mainly because he was a friend of ours but also because we felt a registrar's service was fairly perfunctory, neither of us had liked the civil ceremonies we had been too. Neither of us are remotely religious either.

There was a certain amount of religious content as in we had to have hymns and he did a sermon but he was pretty sensitive about the fact that we weren't really christian and the theme he chose to speak on suited us very well. The hymns were fairly non-religious too, as far as hymns can be anyway and were both tunes I already knew and liked.

To be honest though, i have to say on the day i barely noticed the religious tone!
