It varies so much in the UK. Some venues run into thousands of pounds and can be over £100 per person for a sit down meal with drinks on top. Some venues have a hire charge and then charge per person on top. One we looked at wanted £8000 to hire for the day and it was £90 per person for a sit down meal on top of that. The same goes for photographers, flowers and everything else for the wedding. There is so much variation in the costs and you need to shop around and get recommendations. I think it can also depend on the area you are getting married in. For example London always seems to be a bit more.

I can tell you what we paid though:
My bouquet was £70 and the ones for the bridesmaids were £45 each and we had 2. The button holes for the men were £3 with the grooms one £5. We made a donation to the church and they decorated it but it was decorated for the harvest festival too so that didn't cost much. My MIL did all the flowers for the reception.

Our photographer was £700 and he was there for about 12 hours altogether. For that we got 300 7 x 5" photos in albums. We can order reprints and larger sizes for an extra cost if we want. I know people that have spent £2000 or more on their photos though.

Our reception venue was £30 per person for a sit down meal. This also included half a bottle of wine during the meal, welcome drinks and fizz for the toasts. There was no hire charges for the hotel rooms and we got a hotel room included for the wedding night.

I think it very much depends on what your budget is as you can shop around and either spend an absolute fortune on everything or find something that is a much more reasonable price. If you want to, you can have it all quite cheap by asking friends to help and cutting back on things or you can really go to town and splash out on everything.

We have set ourselves a budget of £1500 for the lot and so far so good. My dress looks like it´s gonna cost around £150 for us to make and the bridesmaids £70 for the two inc. delivery from the states.

We are paying £60 per person who comes to the wedding as thats what day tickets cost plus flights and accommodation for the 4 of us (Me, FH and 2 beautiful little girls).

Hopefully we can do it in budget, fingers crossed!

Your villa and catering sounds lovely, do you have any links?

Ours was around #47 per head at the venue, to include a reception cocktail, two glasses of wine during meal, champagne for post, and a three course meal and canapes.

My bouquet was #80 for tropical flowers, the BM's were #40 and the FG was 45. Button holes were #4 for the normal ones and #6 for the specials, and corsages were 15 each.

My photographer and videographer were quite a bit of money but fantastic.

Would love to hear more about your venue and plans!

Sorry but no links for this villa which happens to be in Tuscany! I am not planning my wedding, I am in the wedding businness in italy and I don't want to offer my clients too expensive things...Not everybody can afford an expensive wedding abroad....I liked the villa very much....But I thought the price was too high, don't you think so???
I got married 3 years ago on villa in the Tuscany seaside, nice place and nice lunch, it costed me 30 pounds each, but I didn't pay for the villa! Thanks for your help

You should see me trying to spell it after I've had some. Ask V and Bron what I was like that night on msn.
