Finally got my BM sorted today
My BM is my cousin who unfortunetly for me lives in Aberdeen and today was the only day we had together in Glasgow to find her dress!!!! After walking all over town and not finding a dress we eventually went to Remnant Kings fabric shop and found the perfect pattern and the right colour of fabric we wanted
Her dress is navy blue, which no bridal shop had. Lilac is a very popular colour this year There seemed to be nothing but lilac in all the shops
But even more exciting than that (is there anything more exciting lol) Who walks by us but EWAN MCGREGOR!!!!
God it was so amazing, we done a double take cause we weren't even sure if he was real or a dream at first
He was by us that quickly that we never even had a chance to see if we could talk to him or ask for his autograph
We were very star struck, not everyday you see a film star walk past you in Glasgow!!!!!!

It was way cool, he is even better looking in the flesh
My BM is taking the material back to Aberdeen and she is going to get in touch with a dressmaker to put the dress together for her. At last now with that sorted all we really have to do now is get h2b's suit and that's nearly everything sorted

I managed to get my fabric and dress pattern from Remnant Kings too. Four dresses made for under £85.00 too good a bargain to resist I thought.
As for Ewan McGreggor. I started an extra part time job three weeks ago in a bowling alley. Went on my break the first night, and came back to squeals of " DID YOU SEE WHO'S ON LANE 12....EWAN MCGREGGOR !!!"
Spent most of the remaining time casually staring down in the direction of lane 12. Never asked for his autograph though as I didn't want to disturb him on a fun night out and all that sort of stuff. Wish I had now.
Stuck around for him to hand in his shoes though , then couldn't actually look at him cause "OH MY GOD IT'S REALLY EWAN MCGREGGOR" kept screaming through my head.
He take a size ten bowling shoe if anyones interested.
SAD I KNOW.....but you know what they say about big feet....
Big feet......
Big shoes

Wendy - glad you got your BM dress sorted out and as for seeing Ewan McGregor, how cool is that???
I've only ever seen 2 "stars" in the flesh - Marti Pellow walked past my friend and I in Bothwell St years ago when he was going through his hippy faze with his long hair - he had on nothing but a waistcoat which was open, a pair of ripped jeans, a pair of cowboy boots and some beads! He was strutting down the street looking around to see who was watching him - my friend and I couldn't stop laughing, he was SO pathetic looking! My other claim to fame is that Johnny Lee Miller asked me to dance! I was with my then boyfriend in Sunset Boulevard (you'll know it Wendy) in Clydebank just about the time Trainspotting was released and this wee guy is dancing beside me and comes over and says "fancy a dance" - I thought he was lovely but very small and I was with my boyfriend so I said no - he shrugged his shoulders and danced off. Half an hour later the DJ said "here's the Trainspotting theme tune and tonight we have a real live member of the Trainspotting cast in our club - give a very warm welcome to Johnny Lee Miller - SICK BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!" The spotlight went on this wee guy who'd asked me to dance and the place went wild! I just stood there with my mouth hanging open, completely gobsmacked that I hadn't recognised him (his hair was brown!) and even more gobsmacked that I'd turned him down!

Wow Alli, think I need to start going back to the boullie see if any stars ask me to dance (i wish !!! lol) That must have been amazing, even if you never danced with him, just being asked is brilliant !!!
I know what you mean about Marti, I met him when they had just become famous and although he was happy to have his picture taken with me he was very big headed and just abit arrogant.
Still it's great to be able to say I met him

My sister saw Ewan McGregor on a Eurostar train to Paris in December. Unfortunately, she asked for his autograph which I don't think he was too happy about, although he gave it to her. He was with his family and I was soooo embarrased that she had gone and asked him, even tho the autograph was for me!!
My other sister also met him when he did a play in London. She waited outside the stage door and get her picture taken with him. He was much more amenable then, but I guess he was still working, whereas on the train, he was off on hols or whatever.
One day I'll meet him! *sniff*

I haven't met Ewan McGregor, but I HAVE bumped into Ricky Ross from Deacon Blue. Understandably it was at a Deacon Blue gig - but he was just wandering about the venue before he went on stage - I guess just trying to see how many had come. I turned round & walked smack bang into him, said sorry, and he said "that's ok" & smiled.
Maybe not a big deal to most, but as I love Deacon Blue, all night I was like "I TOUCHED Ricky!"
Also, the coffee shop I used to work in got loads of minor celebs & local politicians in it, as it was just across the road to where all the NI talks were taking place pre-Assembly.
Had Tony Hadley in once, and I had a long chat with the lead singer of the Adventures once (remember them? Had a single called "Broken Land" in the 80s..) Oh, and one of the actresses (bronagh I think) from the Commitments/This Years Love etc etc....now she thought she was a BIG star...
Also met the guitarist from T'Pau (WOW-- )at a Radio 1 Roadshow and Michael Crawford, who was an absolute sweetheart, when I was about 11!
I THINK that's about it! Still haven't met Morten Harket though.....
