How involved is your H2B?
Just wondered if people's H2Bs are very much involved or leaving it all up to you guys.
Mine is pretty involved in the things that interest him - food, music (poor old DJ is pretty much going to get a playlist as well as list of things not to play), honeymoon and who to come. Helped me make the invitations (think this is mainly due to wanting to save money) and even bought a new printer so we can print pics onto cds because cds of the music we are having for the ceremony and evening do will be part of the favours.

Lucky you! Mine is a nightmare, he just wants the stage, he wants to play the wedding march on his guitar as i walk in and he wants to crowd surf out. Thats it. Wont say anything else about anything else!
Not bothered who comes, what music, nothing. He says as long as we are man and wife at the end of the day he´s happy.
I really wish he would get involved but i´m the organiser, he´s the happy-go-lucky one so i guess at least i get the day i want (and all the hard work!)

My hubby was always busy at work as he is self employed and works round the clock when i needed him he was there but i did most of it with my head b/m as thats how i wanted it i had fun with it. everything i did do thoguh i consulted with my hubby so he knew what was what he did the honey moon and came with me when chosing the cars photographer and he went with guys to get their formal wear once i had been with him and the best man first to chose the colours and design as i had a pic in my mind of what would go with the b/m.he also came to church to talk to the vicar etc and we had to go to chruch every second week for a service for 6 months, I did al lthe finishing touches like the table wear etc, he came wit hme of course on appointments near the end and to pick the venue and discuss what we required there.
All in all it worked for us and i was happy with the help i got off him, my head b/m was a star and i couldnt of done it without her everytime i needed help she was there she even reminded me of appointments we had to go to as my head was in a tiz near the end its just so exciting, its was a case of the bride got what she wanted after all its us that really likes the pretty things in life more so.

Mine has been very involved, he has negotiated prices, come to meetings with vendors, helped with the theme and colours, helped with my attire, helped shop for the registry, save the dates and has been doing research for the honeymoon. There is probably more I am not thinking of right now.

Mine was quite involved but only in the things that interested him. He helped to design the invites and other stationary but didn't really help that much to make them. He got involved in the guest list and music and that was about it really. He organised the honeymoon as well and sorted out the suit hire but didn't really do much else.

My H2B deffinatly let me take the driving seat,
He keeps saying that it is my day and that blokes don't really care that much as long as we are happy. (Sounds a bit like your festibride).
As time went on and so did my nagging sorry gental persuasion he got more and more involved.
He lets me do the leg work and then he comes to check things abd to be there when we book. He did this for the venues, cars etc...
He's not interested in the little details but I dont think many men care what the tables look like as long as there is food and drink on them.

I always thought that women really enjoy planning the wedding and all the other related stuff. After all, they are dreaming the BIG DAY even since they were very small.
@Tiny: You are perfectly right but that doesn't mean we don't adore our w2b

My H2B is very much involved - he's got loads of ideas of things he wants. He's getting the church he wanted and has arranged a friend of his to drive me to the wedding in a classic jag.
...all I've done so far is look at dresses and learn how to make cakes!

I was referring only to the stuff that needs to be done on the wedding day: the places, the type of food, guests and others ...

Minos my dear - I hate to burst your bubble but whilst most of us probably thought it might be a nice idea at some point we haven't all been living for our wedding day.
I loved my wedding day and it still rates as the best day of my entire life but up until I met my husband I was much more interested in going out with my friends/boyfriends and having a good time.
Men - what are you like!

Let me see if I understood your words correctly. Now that you've got married ... you don't have a good time anymore ?

MIne asked me two weeks beforehand what time he had to turn up ... bless him. He had a lovely time on the day though!

PS: Minos - I think what Dawn was saying was that she wasn't pining for a soul mate, she was having fun with her friends. But now she has fun with Steve as well!

Mine was really involved. I did all the research on stuff, but then we made decisions on stuff together, and with our parents. Some things were really important to me, like a cathlic church, the dress, the bridesmaids etc, and then stuff important to him too, like the rings, the music, the stationary, website and orders of service and table names etc as he made them all. He even chose our bridesmaids colour And well funky it was too.
Minos, I've known since I was about 7 the place i wanted to get married, and I was lucky enough to get married there and it was perfect. However, it would have been any groom

There you go. Except for the groom ... everything was planned way before your actual wedding date. I rest my case ...

Mine is fairly involved. We discuss everything although he tends to leave it to me to source everything. We both researched venues though and decided on Fernie Castle after we had visited.
He has definitel ideas about at he is wearing ( a kilt) and nothing i say will change them...... he wants his family tartan (boring and dull) and i want him to wear a different general scottish one ( pretty and purple | |
